so any one found out if the wesillhead is open? heard they shut it down after the flood due to unexploded bombs
They did, sorry about that :( haha. the city website says its still closed, however I've seen posts by people saying they've been down.

I was down there today. The path is rough, and it's easy to get off track if you don't know where you are going. It looks radically different from the last time I was there (in 2011) since the flood changed the river's path so much.
The beach area is still quite nice, however (in fact, probably even better than it was previously), and there were about 6-8 people there when I went down.
