Return to DiscussionsI talking about Chautauqua Gorge in western New York. It's a clothing optional state park. I've gone there once and it was great! No cost to get in, just a casual hike down this beautiful Gorge. People playing in the water and sunning nude on the rocks. I can't wait to go back!
Is this camp ground truly clothing optional? I'm just curious because it doesn't state that on the website and I don't want to get in trouble if I go and get naked lol!
Can one hike anywhere on the grounds completely nude?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the local landowner has been harassing visitors to the gorge and, with the backing of the Town of Westfield, has managed to shut down access to the gorge from the Taylor Rd parking lot. There is a trail in from the other side, but I've never came in that way. It's the end of over 100 years of nude use of the gorge, and I'm still in shock about it--my outdoor profile pics are form there.
