I read on another site that the Lifegaurd chairs have been removed, and unprotected beach-No Swimming signs have been put up.

From what I read, the chair was put out this year, then removed. I hope nothings changed.

I also saw a lot of discussion that the beach is not being guarded now and that, because of that, swimming prohibited. I read only 2 beaches are being guarded for swimmers (I don't remember which ones).

Yes, only the two largest beaches will be guarded this year. I sent an email asking why.

That's correct. My friend & I made the mistake of visiting back on the 25th. Plenty of gusty winds from the North (thanks Canada) that morning.
