The old saying about a Happy Life
Return to DiscussionsThere is an old saying Downunder that goes "Happy wife, happy life", not sure of it's well known elsewhere. Well for 34 years we followed that pretty well until cancer took it's toll. I have endeavoured to live as naturally as I can since then as the weather allows by enjoying my private yard, the beach and indoors in the cool. There are plenty of others out there who have lost partners, I wondered what they have done through a naturalist lifestyle to help them along the journey.
I first heard the saying in Bride & Prejudice, Bollywood-style interpretation of the Jane Austen novel. It may predate that.
I guess we all have our own paths through this life, continually altered in path by decisions and opportunities within and out of our control.
First of all congratulations to AndyDi celebrating your 49th Anniversary, we are about half that. On a happy wife, happy life, we are about 75% to 25% with Mary being 75%. Even though we both compromise I tend to give in a little more. But that is ok it all works out.
Sounds like what we would do also. We enjoy doing charters on Tampa Bay and especially with nudists. After 35 years it would be quite an adjustment for either one of us to lose the other. Wish you long life and enjoyment!
