I had always heard that National Forest was nude friendly -- that it lacks any laws that prohibit nudity. Although that's technically true, individual areas of National Forest partner with local law enforcement. As such, the laws enforced may be state or county statutes and ordinances.

In the case of the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri, Missouri State Troopers do a good deal of law enforcement and strictly enforce a no-nudity policy.
