Recommendations on proper measuring for cockring size

Return to Discussions

I've used many rubber rings during the years because it's hard for me to get a right mesaure following the instructions of seller sites, despite being careful and following the indications sometimes it simply doesn't work, for instance, at Primal Rings I get a 55 mm measurement but the site states that "Most guys are in the 40mm-50mm range", and I'm an average grower. Not sure about the 'trial and error' thing here, so if anyone one has tips it'd be mostly appreciate it.
Stay nude.

I was lucky to have a store in Phoenix that I was able to get fitted correctly. But I also made my own rings for years out of copper or leather. At least till I bought my first chrome ring and it was the wrong size anyway. Lol it fell off in a mall ! Lol darn thing rolls fast.

I made an adjustable sizing ring by buying a 45mm dia narrow steel ring, cutting it open (C from an O) and stretched it open slightly to about 58mm. I then got a small length (approx 30mm) of narrow, clear plastic tubing from a discarded spray bottle and inserted it between and over the two ends, bridging the gap and closing the ring. I then put it on and I could bend the ring open and closed within the plastic tubing until it was most comfortable. Then through the clear plastic tubing I could see the ends of the steel ring and marked them with a Sharpie pen. I took it off and measured the diameter (in my case 53mm). Perfect! Hope this helps, cheers, Neil.

I experimented with various soft rings including an o-ring assortment before finding that 40mm rings from the hardware store are ideal for me. With the rubber I'd settled on around 38 mm with the flexibility making up for the extra tightness. It's tempting to try tighter but I've never got to the point of purchasing anything.

Because they're stupid expensive I've bought some steel hitching rings from tractor supply. 2.0" is practically a trip to the hospital and 2.5" fell off in the checkout line at the farmers market. (Thank goodness for the dirt floor or could a been a real laugher). Looks like 2.25 is my number. (55mm is 2.17")
