Here are a couple of my latest commissions.
The first is a coffee table constructed using vintage wooden wine boxes. Each had to be disassembled carefully and trimmed. I adjusted the different thicknesses of each plank to be within .125 of each other. A natural clear finish was used to highlight all of the different logos.
The second is a console cabinet using book-matched rosewood veneer, inside and out. Again only a clear gloss finish.

Always fun to be in the shop working, bare!

An impressive display of your talents, very nice! There's something so pleasing about working with wood with your lumber out, hah hah! Keep up the fine art, man ~

Great work, but I have to echo Wildwillie: keep those tools a safe distance from your tool!

So far I have had no close calls while working nude; I guess the fact that I am exposed makes me more alert! I do however enjoy getting wood dust and chips everywhere. The air hose works well for chip removal!

Ending up covered in sand has been a bit of a theme for me over the last few days. Sawdust would be different again and might even be a nice enhancement to set off your tan!

I had a a problem with working with used wood paneling. I had removed all the nails but missed a tiny tack nail. Naked it hit me in the breast bone. That table saw can throw a nail fast. Not sure if a shirt would have stopped it. lol

If you are going to work with old nail-ridden wood, pick up a stud finder at the box store. Great for locating any metal that is hidden in wood- even an odd bullet! And yes the saw will send it flying toward you. I have eliminated that by changing to a Saw Stop.

I've only used my stud finder on walls. A good tip to use it with reclaimed timber. Thanks!

I just saw your cabinet work; that is a thinly disguised piece of art. Very nicely done.

Just uploaded a pic of my latest woody project - pantry shelves requested by my sweetie (and very much needed in our naked little home).

It's not nearly the chore when it's done without fabric on! Repurposed wood from an old futon frame which had been bouncing around Mom's house for a couple of decades and packing crate wood from my old winery. Between that and some thin plywood and screws & nails, gotterdun in just under $50.

The monkey was only hanging around for moral support and critiques that weren't very helpful. Picture #2 needs some Cpt.Morgan, no?
