RE:Getting in shape

glad to hear that you're embarking on a fitness journey so young. looking forward to hearing about your progress. I did the same thing 6 years ago, the results havebeen impressive ( at least to me) lost 30 pounds in the first 6 moths, (which I've kept off) eat better, made new friends at the gym. and havebeen expanding my fitness interests, latest activities include zumba, yoga, pole dance, and aerial hoop. BTW did I mention that I'm 72. I started because I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and they put me on meds. started the fitness journey and went off the meds after about 4 months (with my doctors knowlege , consent, and supervision)

Unfortunately no I work out at a public gym. I'd love to work out naked though that would be awesome

only if i'm doing stuff in my basement, yoga, and i have a few weights, kettle bells, resistance bands. If i get a minute alone in the pole studio, I might strip down for a minute, but full nudity is not allowed, and everyonce in a while staff walks in to make sure everyone is ok, or to give someonea tour.

RE:Getting in shape

I have had gym memberships over the year but gym workouts never really appealed to me. Partly because of the atmosphere and partly because i cant choose my preferred form of dress. So I now have pretty much all the equipment I need to workout at home without needing to get up get dressed drive to gym workout among all the muscle men and fitspo women then drive back home and get undressed to recover recoup and relax.

Now I can literally roll out of bed get my stationary bike or treadmill, lift weight on my bench etc and flop on the sofa or take a sauna to rest and recover. I like this very much.

I agee with you about working out at home instead of going to the gym, but I still do outdoor cardio weather permitting even though I have to put clothes on to do it.

I hope you will share your journey here. I start doing more for the new year when I got some equipment a stationary bike. I have kept going since. Not really trying to lose weight just get in better shape and keep core strong. Used to do a lot of yoga but fell off past yeah. Been doing loots or strength and cardio (my nemesis) and getting back to yoga.

That is the huge benefit of have the room and equipment to workout at home. Its hard for me to imagine working out in closes anymore I am so used to working out clothes free. I have dumbbells kettlebells for strength, bike and treadmill for cardio, stepper and rower (rower is my least favorite equipment) for leg strength and an adjustable bench. Have my eyes on some adjustable barbells and I think that will be it. Besides I dont have any more room.
