Anyone here willing to talk to me about the pros and cons of getting one?

RE:Considering getting one

I was initially put off by a friend who said I wouldn't be able to pee straight. Then he suddenly announced that he had one. I got mine early in April 2017. So I've had it for 18 1/2 months. The initial piercing was used a light ring - 1.6mm (14g) and I had to wait several weeks for it to heal. Washing it with saline (salty water) was recommended to keep it infection free and aid healing. It was amusing dipping the end of my penis in a glass of salty water. Then the advice was to upgrade it slowly, 1mm or less at a time, giving time to heal between each upgrade. I moved up to 2mm (12g), then 2.4mm (10g), then 3mm, then 3.2mm (8g). Those steps were fairly easy. The next step to 4mm (6g) was difficult and the one after to 5mm (4g) was even harder. But I got to that gauge by late July 2018 -15 1/2 moths after getting the initial PA. I'm now (Oct 2018)struggling to get up to 6mm (3g). Others have much heavier inserts - 10 mm or 00g and thicker.

As for peeing straight: It depends on the insert I use A bent barbell works well. I find the pee will cling to a ring or horseshoe which makes peeing unpredictable. The easy solution is to sit. Alternatively I place my hand between penis and sack then wash it afterwards. And most urinals are shaped to catch a misdirected flow.

My PA has attracted some interest. Nobody has voiced any negative comments (to my hearing) and it hasn't put people off talking to and befriending me. Some have shown curiosity, asking questions and occasionally handling it. Having said that it is only one of my piercings. My crossed nipple piercings appear to attract most initial attention.

I hope that, with this info, you can judge for yourself. A PA is said to be the most popular male piercing. It is in a very special place. And the decision has to be a personal choice.

RE:Considering getting one

I don't have one but I have known many gents that do. From my observation, gramps gives an excellent description. I think it all depends on the man, the size & shape of his penis and how he does things. Many of my friends with PAs do choose to sit rather than stand, they say it is easier. I know from oral play that some guys, especially those with the smaller PAs -- it can be a turn-on to go down on them and some guys, no matter what their size PA are very uncomfortable and I have asked them to remove the PA. I enjoy using my tongue in the slit to tease their cocks but when the PA is present, that is not so easy. Still it boils down to a person's choice and desires. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

RE:Considering getting one

I was cut at birth and have been restoring my foreskin. My immigrant parents chose to circumcise me despite their home culture so Id fit in; a valid decision in my white WASPy suburb which I regret. Given that it has no medical benefit and I had no say over my own body, it even takes on a personal sense of genital mutilation.
I see PAs as an more extreme form of genital modification, and am not one to consider it given the lengthy recovery and somewhat emasculating change in pissing lifestyle. I dont see any personal advantages such as improved sex which I relate to more foreskin, so I prefer to continue my restoration. But I respect anyone who chooses otherwise and wish them good luck!

It was the best thing I ever did,. have 4g and love it. Have the piercer start with a 12g hole and insert a 10g ring, That seems to work best.

RE:Considering getting one

Hi guys.
I have always wanted a PA but never got around to it so I hope to do it soon. I have 2 concerns. Firstly, I appear to have a frenulum breve https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frenulum_breve - the ligament that joins the head to the shaft is quite tight so if i pull my foreskin back, it just pops back. I prefer this to be seen to first to help with retracting the foreskin and giving more room for the PA. Does anyone else have a frenulum breve?

I saw my doctor this week who was useless and suggested a circumcision. When i told him it was Frenulum breve and not a tight foreskin, he obviously had no idea what i was talking about. However, he referred me to a specialist for a phimosis (tight foreskin) so i will see what he says next week I have read of doing the treatment themselves with a needle and fishing line but there is no way i am messing around with my dick!

My other issue concerns the healing time. I have started swimming daily as part of a diabetes treatment plan. I love swimming and i am determined to go every day. From research so far, the recommendation is certainly not to go to a public pool for at least 2 weeks to reduce any opportunities of infection which is probably very good advice. My question is, how long did it take to start healing? Has anyone had any problems with healing if they go swimming? I may have to wait until my pool is closed for the winter to get it done. I've been putting it off and changing my mind for 20 years, so a few months more for greater certainly to be safe won't make much difference!
