Self Timers

For those who take naked photos of themselves using a self timer

Wow if it wasn't for self timers I wouldn't have any pics at all. But I think it's pretty hard to male them look like you aren't posing for them. Not that that matters I guess. I find it tough to decide which ones to post tho.

And it's not easy to take a photo on the boat holding the fish when alone either. The fish never wants to cooperate!

I set the cam on sequential or burst mode and then delete the pics of me running into place!

I think with a bit of experience by photographing myself, we can arrive quickly to find the right distance and a support for the camera.
Ten seconds seem a too short time to take a picture. However, the last picture in my gallery where I'm sitting in the lotus position, my camera is placed on my backpack. After pressing the shutter button, I have time to sit in front and crossing my legs asyou cansee the final result. The question for me is the question assessing the proper distance to be well under, neither too close nor too far.

Yes the pics are bound to look posed. I take them wider than I need and then crop them and adjust the exposure. That way I get to use most of the pics I take.

Same here, all of my pics except one are with the self-timer. It's always an interesting challenge to get the pic to not look too posed. It is fun to do.

My DSLR is a Canon D400 for which you can buy a wireless remote control, aptly called the RC-1. There are also models by independent manufacturers that work just as well. For my mobile camera and tablet, both of them running versions of theAndroid OS, I have a "Snap" remote which is available cheaply on ebay.I use a tripod with the Canon and have a tripod/phone holder for my mobile which leave me free to worry about my pose. The RC-1 even has a 2 second delay to give me time to hide the remote itself before the shutter fires.
