The Innocence Of Nudity In History

The purpose of this group is to create a gallery of photos and art as a throwback to a simpler time when nudity and the human body were accepted in society and appreciated rather than demonized. A place where the innocence of the naked human form was considered as a normal part of society and not shunned or condemned. This is not a group for you to post your personal pictures unless they are...

I have been adding many more images to the Media Gallery in the group "The Innocence of Nudity in History".

It has been a grueling task searching the internet UNFILTERED, to find wholesome vintage media to add to the gallery. I think I've become numb to all the GIF files that have popped up during my search.

I hope you are all enjoying the selection! It has not been for the faint of heart.

As you scroll through the media gallery, take a moment to comment on which images you feel best portray the innocence of nudity and why. It would be enjoyable to hear your opinions. Don't be shy about using the like button!

If you should notice any dupes, please shoot me a PM. I try to catch them as I save the pictures but with over 300 images some may slip through.

Some of my personal favorites are of the mixed gender swim meets.
It portrays the innocence of the nude male in society. People didn't give a thought about a nude male swimming as it was the norm as displayed in many of the posted images here
In this day and age the naked male is considered almost obscene.
What a difference 50 years can make on the perception on the nude male physique.

The swimming ones are interesting in that only the men are nude. Is that because they believed that women had to keep them selves covered as to not arouse the men?

I like the ones showing people doing every day things. The mining pictures are also different. Working underground, in the dark nude!

The mining pics just seem practical, why ruin your clothes while you sweat?
As far as only the men being naked, I think it was just more common to see men working naked for practicality sake, and to also swim that way makes sense.
I would love to hear insight from others, like life on the farm for example, working in the heat of the day.
Certainly there must be stories out there.

I have heard the stories of the male swim classes at the YMCA being nude. I was presently surprised to see the mixed swim meets where the guys were stilll nude. More interesting to me were the posed class photos with nude males along side the females.
I think my favprites were the pictures that depicted nudity as that is just the way it was done. For example, the men working, some ladies too. The swim meets are in that category. There were others that did not look to me to be in a nudist setting and the nudity just appeared natural. That is the society I would like to live in.
Thank you for this collection of innocent nudity in history.

Thank you for your reply E!
I think most of our society today would be shocked to find out that a few years ago, seeing a naked man swimming was a "nothing burger"!
The human body isn't "disgustingly shameful" or evil!
What is evil is how society has programmed our thinking as a culture and destroyed our innocence as a people!

Trany or true hermaphrodite, I'm not sure. Was the technology available then?
One thing that seems apparent is the body confidence!
