About Bribie Island

There are several freshwater lagoons and campsites on the beach that are accessible at all tides. just beware at high tide its a long hard drive to the sites, so best to travel near low tide.

The lagoons and beach are quite busy on weekends so best to arrive before high tide set up somewhere away from others and use the high tides lack of traffic to enjoy a nude swim and sunbake.

you can use the campsites to get up off the beach but you must have a permit to set up a site.

Use caution and be courteous as this is not a legal beach and the rangers, while being nice guys, will call the police if they have any issues with problem beach users.

Bribie Island Directions

4WD ACCESS is from North Rd on the surf side of the Island. Take the Bribie Caboolture Turn off from the Bruce highway and follow the signs to Bribie Island. When you cross the bridge on to the island go straight through the first roundabout. keep following this road through several round-abouts following signs to surf beach or WOORIM. Once you reach the surf beach and the surf club the road veers to the left ont North Street continue up the road. after 3-4km you will see a sign directing you to the access for the beach. 2wd vehicles will need to park up in the lot. 4wds can use this area to prepare their vehicles. the access road is soft and bumpy and gets lots of traffic so beach entry and exit is quite soft and ripped up so lower pressures and take your time.
Needed to update, permits can only be bought as a weekly or yearly and from the Tackle shop at Ningi on the way to Bribie or at the Bongaree caravan park or online, you will need addition permits for camping and it is very popular being so close to Brisbane so book in advance to avoid disappointment.
