nice place to go and, as far as I know, the only place where you can be naked in public in Seattle.

You should check that out if you ever go to Seattle.

From the Website:
ABOUT THE PARK

While there is no parking here, this secluded park offers a planted trail that leads to the beach, but that starts between two private driveways, so please be respectful. It leads down through the woods to a beach lawn. It is reached by a tiny, residential access road with no parking, but offers public shore access, benches, and great big trees.

HISTORY

The name came about because the park is at the foot of Howell Street, which is named in memory of Captain Jefferson D. Howell, brother-in-law of Jefferson David, President of Confederate States (1861-1865).

(Edited from the files of Don Sherwood, 1916-1981, Park Historian.)

Howell Park Directions

Direction to Howell Pl. where you will find a sign that says Howell Park. Then simply proceed through a small sandy way down to the beach which is more a meadow with a stony beach and nice water.

You can get there by bus too. One line is running there. Simply check on g. maps and it will tell you how to get there. So no car needed if you are not afraid of 3 min walking.
