Visited this last Monday. Was a nice day, a few couples and quite a few more men. Everyone on the far southern end of the beach was nude. Seemed like a college party day on the other half of the beach with a few gawkers but all in all not too bad. We’ll definitely be checking it out again in the future.

Pirates Cove Nude Beach

Went the first time today. The North end of the beach had a bunch of college age looking men and women partying pretty hard and making a lot of noise, a few topless women. Once on the other side of the rocks about half way across the beach there were lots of nude sunbathers just relaxing and soaking up the sun. Saw full nude couples along with single men and women. Was a nice atmosphere. I’ll be returning again sometime. I didn’t talk to anyone as it was my first time at a nude beach so not sure what the etiquette is there as far as striking up a conversation but everyone did seem friendly.

I was in the SLO area in 2004 and discovered there was a nude beach towards the end of my stay. On a trip back to the area in 2005, I went to the beach for two days straight. LOVED IT! It was, indeed, a little tricky to get to but it was worth it. Probably due to the time of year, I did not encounter too many people on the beach with me (probably 3 people on both days combined) but I did enjoy the seclusion.
Avantages : Parking, views, beautiful sand

What``s happening to the Cove

This used to be a nice quite beach were you could feel comfortable being nude with others. It seems a younger "clothed" party crowd has found our paradise. Half the beach looks like Avila pubic area. My advice to all other nudist, is to go to the far end beyond the rock. More naked bodies and less party.

Great people, peaceful, friendly and best of all, sunbathing through most year round.
Avantages : Friendly, Sea life all around
Inconvénients : No waves, a little tricky to get to, cold water.
