Great beach to visit!

I finally got to make it out there. First thing first, they aren't kidding about the hike down and up! Down is rough on the knees and back is just rough all together. And I'm from a high elevation and it winded me. So, plan for extra time coming back up. But once you're down there, its totally worth it. I went 2 days in a row, both times were first thing in the morning about 9am. Barely (no pun intended) anyone was down there. Less than 10 people across the whole beach. Not counting people walking down the beach from the south or north. A few of the other people were nude. The water felt great…
Pros: The beach is secluded. You just have paragliders above you during the day. The sand is nice and there is room to spread out.
Cons: The hike. No bathrooms or anything down there. And the only bathrooms are at the top and those are porta potties.

This beach is a must visit if you are in the San Diego area. It is easy to find and get by multiple means of transportation. The beach access can be challenging since the quickest most popular way to get done the cliff to the beach is a steep climb down and up a 300 ft cliff. Once you get to the beach it is well worth the water temperature the day I visited was perfect. Just right to cool off the heat of the day. The waves were sufficient for playing but not so rough that you would be tossed around and not be able to enjoy. Walking along the shoreline was fun though I didn’t see as many seashe…

Beautiful and secluded

It's just an amazing thing to see. At the top is a glider port where they just jump off the cliff. I have no ability to judge long distances but it seems like 100 feet down the cliff. It's about a 10 -15 minute hike down a steep decline. It has a large gay following if that's your thing but there are a lot of women there too.
Pros: Stunning to see
Cons: It's a long and treacherous walk down the cliff, but well worth it.

My First Nude Beach

What a wonderful place full of beautiful people. The north side has a lot of men and is the Pride section, I believe. In between the north and the south is a larger mix of gender with a slightly lesser proportion of nudity. I loved the vibes there, meeting several people, sharing meditations with some, hugging many. :)

Marines had landed

The last time I was at Blacks Beach was when I was in the Marines. I remember me and some of my Marine corps buddies hearing about this place and going down there to check it out. We hiked down this cliff side with a big ice chest of beer. We were all in our twenties fresh out of boot camp. Seeing and talking to hot naked girls and drinking beers with them. We had a great time.! I remember seeing some guy on a hang glider. Flying back and forth along the cliffside. Year's later I see on the news, The Fire and rescue team saving a Hang glider who was blow into the cliffs over blacks beach. LMAO…
Pros: Had a great time meeting girls and getting to know them and partying with them. Place is secluded and the beach was beautiful
Cons: The cliffside was kind of dangerous to carry a ice chest full of beer and ice. was a sandy cliff. slippery . We learned you can't have Bottled Beer on the beach. because of broken glass being a problem. Which was understandable.

This was my first nude beach to visit when I was 19. Many years ago. Was an on/off clothing optional beach at the time. 1979. I try to go there when I am in the area.
Cons: Getting to it requires going down a cliff trail. Nearest stores are a few miles away. Pack anything you need in.

It is a fun experience. Rather secluded which is helpful. I have found the best way to get there is to park at the gliderport and hike down. People there seemed nice enough the couple of times I went. There were always a decent amount of people there, and a good mix.
Pros: Somewhat secluded feel while also being a rather long stretch of beach. Good mix of people, with different ages and genders represented.
Cons: The hike, which is not a total con as it discourages those who aren't truly dedicated.

My 1sr time at Blacks Beach. Loved the experience. I'm a confirmed Nudist! LOL! I felt really comfortable being naked and the people that where not naked didn't trip out. It was actual exhilarating walking past clothed people on the beach. I Love this Lifestyle! I've found my Nudist Home right in my backyard.
Pros: Relaxing environment. People mind their business.
Cons: You have to hike down to get to the location.

Tough but Worth It

It is very secluded as it is a pretty treacherous hike down to the beach, but once you are there, it is super sprawled out. You can walk a mile down the beach and still be nude, so you can find a spot to be alone, or play volleyball with a big group of people. There is usually always a good mix of people which makes it nicer for younger, more inexperienced nudists.
Pros: Clean, a lot of space, warm most of the year.
Cons: That damn hike.

I had great experiences meeting other nudists and have had a not so good expereince. One on of my first visits, I was watching a volleyball game and I was actually invited to play. It was great since I love being active when I go to the beach. I like laying out, but I also like being active (volleyball, smashball, frisbee). Since it is cloting optional, you can take a non-nudist partner with you and they can be comfortable while you enjoy being nude.
Pros: Lots of sand and plenty of room for all of us nudies. Great beach for first timers or regulars.
Cons: The hike. I also don't like the gawkers. Facilities are only at top of cliff.

Other than the very steep trail, this is one of world's most wonderful beaches. The north ends tends to be almost all nude. Go there every time I'm in southern California (it's just north of San Diego). Sometimes it can be foggy (mild not cold) during the summer months but spectacular most the year. In the winter, when the rest of the US is cold and snow-bound, this beach is a very welcome soothing setting.
Pros: long expanse of beach populated with friendly nudists (north end)
Cons: "Heart attack trail" is the nickname for the very steep trail. You can easily pause while others pass you hiking up.

I guess in my desire to visit all the US nude beaches, I was determined to make it to Black's beach! Worst yet, I never once read any of the reviews that warned you about the treacherous climb down and the hike back up the paved road!! OMG Yes, I can say the beach was beautiful. It is appropriately named because the sand is actually black. Another note to self, not a good idea to wear WHITE shorts to the beach! Yes, they are now ruined! Pros: The people were very friendly. Walking down the hill a gentle man, actually helped us make it down. Then another told us about the walk back up as he saw us trying to figure out, should we pretend to pass out, so the lifeguards can drive us back up!
Cons: I can't stress it enough. I'd rather get nude in the parking lot and call it a day! I don't think I would ever go back! That climb is a killer!!!

Nice beach, but the trail is a very hard hike

As others have mentioned, this is a beautiful beach, but the hike can be a real challenge for some. we made it down easy enough, but the way back up nearly caused heat stroke, even if you take a lot of water. there is not a lot of air circulation on the trails, so the temps tend to skyrocket. We ended up having to walk back down to the beach, then walking a ways south to the next opertunity to hike up, which was a paved road, which helped a little, but it still took over an hour to make it to the top. This is a great beach. It is a hike to get down there, but worth it when you do. I came down from the Glider Port as it is the shortest way I have heard, but quite steep. I was here on the 4th of July I got sunburrned but have no one to blame for that but myself. If there is anyone who is in charge of looking after the beach, it would seem to be Geoff. If you are looking for a nude beach in Southern California this would be it.
Pros: Great location, yet secluded. Great environment and very scenic.
Cons: Getting there can be a hassle for some.

I just visited Black`s for the first time yesterday and I had a fantastic time. I didn`t try it sooner because it is farther away than San Onofre from Los Angeles and some descriptions make it seem hard to get to. If you are in halfway decent shape and don`t have joint problems the gliderport entrance is not too difficult and it seems to go directly to the nude area. When I factor that in it is actually quicker and easier than San Onofre was back when it was still nude friendly. I will definitely find the time to go again.
Pros: Free, easy to get to
Cons: The above mean that there will be a few gawkers.

I just want to start off by saying that Im very grateful to have huge, warm nude beach with great surf and few rocks, that is relatively close to Los Angeles. However as a few before mentioned the gawkers, it seems they have scarred away all the women. I went with a friend of mine thats a female (we were both nude), I couldn`t walk 30 feet away from her without her being hit on.
