About BrittianyBeth
I am a 41 year old female. I am a trained nurse practitioner by profession. However, I am currently working as nurse practitioner, EMT and a hiking guide. I sometimes teach nursing classes at a local community college.
I have also served in medical missions in countries such as India, Dominican Republic, and YAP.
My philosophy on social nudity is as follows. I believe that Americans should be more open minded towards nudity and not associate it with sexuality and sinfulness. I would like to see a day when there are co-ed locker rooms at spas and health clubs to allow families and spouses to get ready together in the same dressing room. In addition, it would be awesome to be able to use areas such as the pool, spa, and sauna without bothering with a swimsuit. I also believe everyone who is against the idea of being nude at places such as resort or beach should try it at least once before assuming it is wrong. Even if you go to a nudist resort or beach during a time when there is not a crowd. You may actually realize how much you like it.
Additionally, i want everyone to know that just because I find nudity comfortable at home and places such as the beach and spas does not mean I would want to run errands nude or be nude 24/7. You will never catch me walking down a city street nude. Nor will you ever catch me wearing daisy duke shorts and a halter top in public. There is a time and place for everything.
I do believe in top freedom for women. We should be able to go topless anywhere a man can. In the days of morbid obesity, a lot of men are bigger on top than women. Why should men be able to peal off their shirts at a hot concert and women have to keep cover. I remember back in high school, during physical education class, most of the guys would peal off their shirts and throw them to the sideline during a hot day. While the girls had to keep their shirts on. We couldn't even reveal our sports bras. This went on for years, until they hired a new female teacher. I remember one hot August afternoon, we went outside for class, and the first thing the several of the guys did was to peal off their shirts. Mrs Mason immediately blew her whistle and explain to the guys, if the girls have to keep their shirts on they are going to have to do the same. I thought it was pretty cool for her to stand up for us. Too bad, she was not allowed to give the girls permission to pull off our shirts too. I am sure many would have took off their tops.
I find that nudity can be hygienic too. You are more apt to shower before entering a pool. You also do not have a tight article of clothing to trap sweat and bacteria. i hate sitting in a sauna where people are wearing swim suits and gym clothes. The smell is horrible.
I find being nude is freeing in many ways from not having the constriction of tight clothing and helps you feel free from the stresses in life. I do not hate clothing. In fact, when I am not enjoying being nude or wearing my hospital scrubs at work, I do enjoy purchasing cute outfits to wear out and about. I also enjoy dressing up in an elegant gown to go out on the town every now and then.
I feel that I can feel more modest nude than wearing revealing clothes. I have got fewer stares at a nudist resort than when I wear a sports bra and shorts at the YMCA. I am not a parent but feel that parents should not hide their nudity from their children. When I was growing up there was five of us living in home with one bathroom. Modesty was something that was put to the side to avoid fighting over the bathroom in the mornings. I along with my sister and brother turned out normal despite seeing one another and our parents nude. On the same token, my parents taught us to respect our bodies.
