Dear Friends,
HAULOVER LIFEGUARDS THREATENED BY $900,000.00 REDUCTION IN NEW COUNTY BUDGET
IMMEDIATE PETITION ACTION REQUEST
Haulover's lifeguards have been good to beach visitors over many years. Now they're faced with the loss of some jobs...which also means fewer lifeguards at the beach and shorter hours of protection for visitors. Please take a moment to sign our petition against this drastic budget cut. South Florida's ocean beaches are its largest tourist attraction, and beach safety for residents and visitors is not the place to cut.
A petition to the Miami-Dade County Commissioners has been posted at Change.org. When you sign the petition online, it will be automatically emailed to all the Commissioners and the Mayor. Please note that only your name, city and date of signature will actually appear on the petition.

We've posted some additional information on what the cuts might mean for beach safety at Haulover Beach at www.sffb.com
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANY CONCERNED PARTIES
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT ON THIS ISSUE,

I just checked the South Florida Free Beaches website and only one lifeguard is being cut and there will be no reduction in the hours of service.
