I first learned to play golf 55 years ago at age 11 with my dad. So far the only nude golf I've been able to partake in is chipping at the resort when they place 4 flags in the ground. I'd love to play an actual round of golf naked some day. Dennis
I was also taught the game of golf by my dad back when I was 12. I've been playing for 55 years and though somewhat better than when I started, still haven't broken into the 80's yet. We had 2 pitch and putt 18 hole golf courses near home, one of them was lit and we played golf at night. The one you could play at night was a nine hole course with two sets of tee boxes so the hole played differently on the back 9. I've been able to drive off the tee box naked a couple of times at public courses. My wife was so nervous. I dropped my shorts and put them on the cart and walked out, teed up, took a few practice swings and then hit the ball. Got in the cart and drove bottomless to my wife's ball and then mine. Got off the cart and slipped on the shorts because others were around.
We probably had our best opportunity to play a hole or two completely naked on a course in Hawaii but didn't. That course management was really casual and we saw a couple playing in bathing suits. Both were barefoot, he didn't have a shirt on and she only wore a skimpy bikini. There were only about 10 players on the course that day so we could have easily gotten away with playing a public executive course while naked, for a while at least.
Not sure if we'll ever make it but it's on our bucket list; La Jenny in France has a regulation course and since it's within the naturist resort, you can play nude. Don't think it's a full 18. I think it's 6 holes you play 3 times or play as much or as little as you'd like. If we do make it, I will play golf naked everyday we are there. Maybe not 18 everyday but I will play naked everyday!
La Jenny is definitely only 6 holes, so 3x around for one round. It is on my bucket list as well. I've only gotten to play the pitch & putt course at Cypress Cove, which has greens but with just regular grass, and a four hole setup at Abbott's Glen in VT, which is set up similar to Sunny Sands.
When I was in college and could golf any day I wanted all summer, I did break 90 a few times, but only on one course that I knew really well. It wasn't an easy course, but I knew exactly which holes I could be aggressive on and which I couldn't. A good drive on the the third hole left a long approach shot over a gulley with a pond to an elevated green. Most of my rounds in the 80s involved NOT being tempted to go for that green in 2. A well-hit 3 wood off the tee would leave me just far enough back to not think about going for it, so that became my go-to on that hole. Too bad I wasn't a nudist then. The course is in a very rural area (it's not called Country View for nothing!) and weekdays during the summer I could have probably played most of the back nine nude before around 3pm when the after work crowd started showing up.
