M Member Apr 19, 2024 back a lifetime ago, I took swim lessons at the old YMCA in New Westminster British Columbia. It was simply a "given" that we did not wear swim suits in the pool. I'm pretty sure that the YWCA in Vancouver pool is "clothing optional" these days. one of my happiest experiences ... attending the Y summer camp circa 1962? way out in the forest, where we swam naked in the outdoor pool in the glorious sunshine I am interested in finding out why the Y had that nudist policy to start with
