This was a new one. The larvae eat the roots and the stocks fall over. We had two that fell over. This could have been a clue. The real issue came when the adult beetles emerged. They eat the tassels screwing up the pollination. About 30% of the ears were effected. I'm hoping we got them under control. Time will tell. If nothing else, the corn provides a good screen reducing my potential exposure when gardening naked.

nkhikerOriginal PosterSep 10, 2026Corn came out okay other than some cross pollination between types. Leeson learned. Made horseradish yesterday. Hardest part was digging the roots. That and keeping the grinder attached to the table.
