Pretty much great weather everywhere this time of year.  Get out and enjoy it!  I focus on food production (heirlooms mostly).  But grow whatever makes you happy.  It's good for you.  WNGD is in a week.

Now there's someone from the states. Don't worry fellow Brits. That gigantic low that affects the UK and half of Europe will move away eventually and the heavy rain will stop. Or maybe we should plant rice.

May 5 is World Naked Gardening Day....what are your plans?

We've got a few trees growing in pots that need to be put into the ground.  I think I'll be getting some new perennials to plant as well.

Would anyone like to participate in a 30 min blog talk radio show regarding planting. We can be generic. Would like to record a show regarding great screening landscaping. Show will be archived. I can schedule the show weekday's before 12 noon PST. I'm allowed up to six callers to participate. This could evolve to a small series.

Let me know if there is any interest.

I'm interested in the radio show if the discussion is about fruits or vegetables.

Usually a copper based fungicide is the only thing that will control black spot.  I have found that trimming off all leaves within a foot of the ground helps, and making sure that the plants have enough calcium and magnesium.

I unfortunately will have a short WNGD due to my work schedule.  I am however going to observe the day for what ever time I do have.  I bought another apple tree that needs planting for starters and about 100 pickling cucumbers to transplant.  Even though I have to work I'm still excited because it will be the first day in a while that my wife and I can garden together due to our conflicting work schedules.  What little time we have on WNGD will be great.
