Jan 23, 2012My first gun was a .410. It was a youth model. Short barrel. Single shot bolt action. The safety would automatically engage every time you load it. I still have it one of the safes somewhere.ReactReply - M_

Jan 28, 2012Mine was a BSA single barrel 12 bore, under the tree one Christmas. Now long gone but I now have 6 shotguns and 5 rifles, all for hunting. Sadly all my handguns were taken away some years ago when they were banned in the UK.

Feb 8, 2012My first real gun was a Ruger 10-22. I still have it and love to get it out and "kill" some empty cans or plastic bottles now and then. My collection has grown over the years to include 12 & 20 ga shotguns and a number of handguns. Reload all my shells also - that's almost as much fun as shooting and saves a lot of money.

Jan 27, 2013My dad gave me a Springfield 22 semi-auto with a tubular magazine and a gold trigger when I got my gun safety certificate from the local American Legion. Dad made a backstop out of a big elm log so we could shoot in the basement at home. I had that rifle for over 30 years until it was lost in our house fire back in 1997 along with the rest of my rifles, shotguns and handguns. Never did a lot of hunting with it but sure shot up a lot of paper targets.
