- MEMemberDec 4, 2015As far as I can remember I always loved to be clothes free.. My Mom and me we two were in the house most of the time as dad used to be away for his job.. Now I realized Mom always loved to keep me nude..She told me many times sunlight on skin keeps you fit and she always ensured I bath completely clothes free.. She was always telling me not to wear any underwear too.. but as it happens with most of us after reaching a certain age and being enlightened by our grown up buddies about human bodies and its various parts I gradually started feeling shy to be nude in the open.. But one fateful day when I was having a shower Mom suddenly opened the door and found me clothed.. as a mamma's boy I always tried to please her.. she told me again to have bath clothes free as it would be easier to soap and keep myself clean..then she removed her clothes there only and started having bath nude.. that inspired me a lot and I too thrown off my clothes..that's the beginning.. we both used to be nude at home whenever Dad was away.. Oct 3, 2016For me it wasn't about when I started getting naked. I did that as a child and through all my adult life. It was in secret or when alone. It is when I recognised that what I was doing wasn't that odd. I discovered lots of others doing it here on TN, all quite normal people. It was good to add a label to what I was doing - and then start doing it with vigour. That was very late in life, only 6 years ago.ReactReply - JA

Oct 4, 2016i have always enjoyed a skinny dip, but was always only when we were only ones on beach. in 2012 i went nude on cable beach in Broome w.a. i had tried being naked in public years before at a nude beach, that time i felt uncomfortable being naked in public. once i got my gear off at cable beach i felt so comfortable that i guess that was when i realised i was a nudist. as we continued to tour australia i went nude around the camp whenever possable, wife not a nudist but is OK with my being nude. harleyReactReply - AB
Oct 4, 2016As a little boy I never liked clothes I was always getting told put your clothes back on!! When I really discovered that I enjoyed being nude was when I was around 11 or 12 years old!! In the summer I would spend a lot of time with my grandparents or an uncle and aunt, they lived in the country!! There was the woods and the creek that ran through my grandparents property and I would go nude skinny dipping or just walk the woods!! My uncle had a pasture that was way in the back of his place so I rode his horse back there, but one clear of the house off came my clothes!! It really must have been the start of puberty that I realized I was a nudist!!ReactReply - NA
Oct 4, 2016I have always felt great unclothed. Natural. My first deliberate time being naked was as a child in the hot humid Toronto summers. It was just too hot and sticky to have pjs on. No blankets but one sheet on top covering me. I shared the bedroom with my older brother. I noticed early on he only wore pj bottoms year round. Being the little brother copied him once winter came. After he left home I was able to sleep naked in the summer without the sheets covering me. And the winter under covers. But I didn't think of myself as a nudist. In 1967 while staying with my aunt and uncle I did my first nude forest walk beside the stream running by their house. I continued having nude times out doors and when alone at home. Still there was no notion I was a nudist. Four years ago I was searching the web and thought to change what I was looking for to nudists. I read over several naturalist web sites info and there were references to TN. I looked TN up and started reading discussions and realized all along I had been a nudist. Thus even though I've acted like a nudist most my life I only became aware I was 4 years ago. Aware enough to accept the title of naturalist or nudist.ReactReply - AU

I believe it was the summer of 1991. I must have been had evolving nudist tendencies in me for years. I read an article in the Sunday L.A. Times about the Terra Cotta Inn and suggested it to wifey. She was hesitant fearing a possible sex group, but went along. We miraculously booked 4 days in the middle of August their busiest time when we went to Palm Springs for a Christian book conference. We walked in to register and I looked over by the pool. HOLY SMOKES! There were really naked people all over. Took us about 20 seconds to become comfortable and we had a fantastic 4 days there.
That was pretty much our starting gun. It evolved into nudist camping at the now defunct Mystic Oaks and currently at Glen Eden. We have gone to the clothing optional beach and try to stay nekkid at home as much as we can.ReactReply - OWOct 5, 2016
Not until I was about 18/19, when I began living by myself and realised I actually could be without being disturbed. It was strictly at-home, as I was far too shy to go to a club. When my ex moved in in 2007 I had to stop because she didn't like it, but when she'd been moved out for a few months (2011) I thought "What's stopping me now?". Still took me 5 years to get myself public though!

I had never considered myself a nudist before, the question kinda took me by surprise.

Oct 10, 2016I was a truck driver and had to take public showers, kinda shy at first but the suddenly realized how much I enjoyed being naked and talking with the others waiting on showers, taking them and drying off, and how relaxing it was just standing around and talking with the other guys. Once I did go to a resort, I did not want to put my clothes back on, I would say that once you get comfortable with it you look back and realize that the hardest part of it is having to get dressed to leave.ReactReply - TR

One hot early summer day I decided to go for a skinny dip, then sat on the dock to dry in the sun since I didn't bring a towel. Not sure if I can but a date on it. I always preferred to be naked even as a child. Started sleeping naked in college when my roommate said that he began sleeping naked. Been sleeping naked for more almost forty years. Always been naked at home, when possible. I guess my true realization was my first visit to a nudist venue. That sealed it for me. Bought a camper and now I spend every summer with my naked friends at our camp.

Oct 15, 2016I didn't discover I was a nudist until about three or four years ago but had been going naked for much longer than that. I have slept naked for about 10 years prior to that. When I met my gf she had been somewhat of a home nudist and is now interested in possibly venturing out. We are slowly getting our kids adjusted to it and hope they embrace it as a healthy part of their lives also. They have not been raised as nudists so we are aware they may not come along with the change.

Throughout life I would be nude in private once in a while. When I turned 55 I said screw it and I'm full time nudist. It's hard though because it is illegal in my state and I don't want to go to jail and maybe lose my job.ReactReply

Oct 18, 2016I first discovered I was a nudist in Oct 1976, 40 years ago. Hubby and I were often nude at home and when we took a vacation in Florida, hubby really wanted to visit a nude resort. I agreed to 'try it'. Within 15 minutes of being nude in a social setting, I became a nudist for life.

When I was a team I would sit by the river naked
Sometimes I would ride bike naked in the woods
It felt great
So I then went to a pine section of the forest
and strip. I would just sit there for hours enjoying myself.
After I left home I didn't have the forest anymore
so then I started to wait till about 3. Or 4 am
And sit on my balkenandy nude
To this day every chance I get I drop my clothes
About three years ago I stopped wearing

Jan 13, 2017I was 20 years old and went to a nude beach for the first time. This was in Florida. I realized that I was a nudist when I felt my stress and social roles slip away while at that beach. It wasn't what I had expected.

Jan 19, 2017While on a business trip to L. A. I went to San Diego for the weekend. While there, discovered Black's Beach. As soon as I took off my clothes I knew I was a nudist. That was in 1988.
