I have a place in Park Central Heights, in Phoenix. The city wouldn't let me extend the height of the
fence with cement block because it had to allow firemen to climb it easily. They did allow me to install upright wooden posts and fill the between spaces with fiberglass panels like used for sunporch roofs. worked out great. Nudist back yard and firemen access.
We planted out gaps on our fence lines years ago. I started and my late wife added more. She was not a nudist but was comfortable that I was. Her motivation may have been that before the planting, a woman walked past our back fence (an old farm fence, post & wire) to help our cat she thought was caught up or injured. She looked in and saw my wife & I, we were having a drink in the late afternoon sun, me naked, her in a bikini. The woman was embarrassed and thought we would think she was perving. My wife laughed and said no but we did do more plating and she was happy when more fences were built. I use my space daily in summer and think of that experience sometimes, a nice and fun memory.
We planted Lilipilli many years ago which has grown to provide a wonderful level of privacy above the fence line. I tend to the nushes almost every day, nude of course. I remove small ends of deadwood to help stimulate new growth and periodically use the hedgers and or trimmer to keep it all within a particular shape and size.I love the process and the privacy.
Interestingly though, the paling fence has progressively opened up and in recent tines has reduced some of the privacy.

The paling fence has opened up progressively? Are people using the timber or are they trying to see in? Do your neighbours know you're a nudist? I have one side fence which is a bit lower but have lots of plantings although there are a few gaps, so I'm discrete along that side but not too much, the neighbour is good and hardly ever in their yard. Have lots of other plants too that limits vision.
It's important as nudists to create this space & privacy, but maybe to explain why if asked or if someone wants to change those conditions. Having a private space, a private haven as such is important I think.

The palings tend to shrink over time and the gap between increases. Being softwood some tend to twist a little too. But when the fence went up 20years ago the gaps were small and tight.
We have three neighbours. On one side she has seen me a few times and is still friendly but has never asked any questions. Behind us, he is a pervert and has tried to effectively look through the fence. Whilst he looks in at me I think he's hoping to glimpse the ladies of our home...but again says nothing and asks no questions. The other side cant see through to the pool area, but have seen me a handful of times over a long period. She made a single smartish comment once but said no more and is still friendly.
I had 4 ft oleanders planted 2 years ago. They survived but not grown. Very frustrating. I want to be able to use my yard nude and can't. Just the pool yard is private. There must be a way to stimulate faster growth.
Plant forthysia instead.
