Doctor "bothered" by nude human

I started being nude for physicals when I was 25. What's the purpose of clothing during a physical exam? Seems like medical insurance at work was always changing and I had to find a new doctor every couple of years. But I'd been nude a few time with different doctors with absolutely no issue. Typically, if the doctor gave any indication that my nudity was even noticed, the doctor would say something very matter of factly like, "oh, you're nude," and then just go on with the exam. I had some doctors say they appreciated having patients who were comfortable enough to not require the paper gown. The lack of a paper gown makes it easier for both doctor and patient.

So, this particular doctor walks in and says, "Oh, you're nude" but there's a bit of an edge in his voice. Nonetheless, the proceeds with the physical exam. Asks the usual questions, looks in ears, eyes, mouth, feels glands under the jaw, palpitates my abdomen, etc. But it's obviously that he's becoming more and more agitated as the exam continues. For me, it's just another physical exam with a licensed medical professional -- absolutely no big deal.

Finally, he asks me to stand up on the floor -- he's going to examine my genitals and check for hernias. He sits down in a chair directly in front of me. And then barks at me to put my shorts on. I reach over, grab my boxers from the chair and put them on. However, he's about to examine my genitals and now they are covered. What else to do but to pull them out through the fly? Which I do. He's not happy with that and barks at me to pull them down.

OK, so now I'm standing exactly as I had be a moment before but now I have boxers around my ankles -- does that really make him more comfortable? It's now time to check my prostate. He tells me to turn around and bend over the table. I need to get my feet apart to facilitate the exam -- so, I step out of the boxers as I turn around. I'm once again totally nude and remain nude for the remainder of the exam.

My only regret in all of that is that when he barked at me to put my shorts on, that I didn't simply pick up all of my clothing, and walk out of his office totally nude -- while calling back at him, "And don't even think about billing me or my insurance."

But, by the next year, he had become an emergency room physician at a local hospital and I started seeing his associate -- a female -- who had absolutely no problems with nude humans.

Addendum: My sister was seen by him in the emergency room and said he was an asshole.

Have you ever seen a specialist who was only examining body parts that would not require nudity? Cardiologist, ENT, orthopedist for upper body, etc.?

Then I assume you remain clothed except for the area being examined.

Of course. Previously, I was talking about a full physical exam during which the doctor looks at everything.

Now that I see a dermatologist and urologist at least annually, my primary physician doesn't look at as much as he did before.

The fact that someone else may also be doing it seems irrelevant.

My primary care physician and cardiologist only have me remove my shirt. My dermatologist has me undress to my underpants ( he does pull the waist band away as well as the leg openings ), and my urologist has me drop my underpants to my knees. So Im not sure why my dentist want me completely naked! ( just kiddin about the dentist)

So Im not sure why my dentist want me completely naked!Once or twice, upon being shown into the room at the dentist, I've asked, "Now, do I need to take my clothing off?"
"No. No. No need for that. Just going to be lookin into your mouth."
"Oh, OK."

I have a friendship outside of the dentist office with my long time hygienist. She too is comfy naked and has told me that she goes bare around her home and knows that i do around mine. I should ask the next time i am in there. Maybe a new covid routine?

I should ask the next time i am in there. Maybe a new covid routine? You should just get naked as soon as you're alone in the room. When someone comes in and says something about it, just say, "Oh, I thought it was required because of covid.
