What do you ride?

I see that it has been awhile since someone has posted anything. So, let me get the conversation going again by asking, what kind of bikes do you like to ride and why? I'm a competitive cyclist and I ride a 2011 Scott CR1 Elite. Right now that's all I have because I'm waiting until I move to California were I'll get a cruiser or an urban bike.
Also, do you ride for daily transport? I can't because my bike is just strictly meant for racing and I don't want to get a mechanical on the way to school.
Stay green by riding!

RE: What do you ride?

My best bike's an ex-pro team Pinnacle, a few years old now, but full Durace on a very good carbon frame. Great for the French mountains. Other bikes include a Columbus Cyclocross bike which doubles as my winter transport and a BMC mountain bike just for fun.And only one of them has been ridden in the nude!

I have a Trek Hybrid that I use on urban trails, usually about 20 to 15 miles a day and a Burley recumbent. Wish there were places to ride nude here, but no such luck.

RE: What do you ride?

Another question I always ask is how many bikes you own. It never fails to get an interesting, and sometimes surprising, answer. I only have two (2) so far but I am still looking.Too many - there are probably 6 bikes around the house that I could call my own... and that's not counting the bikes my son has... (4 I think!)

For the road I like my Giant OCR1. It's been dependable and free of mechanical problems. Kona's are great on the trails. Comfortable, durable and dependable. Keep on riding! Got my eyes set on new bike for next year, will either be Giant or Specialized and can handle some rough roads.

(4 I think!)I think the proper number to own is n+1, when n equals the current number owned ;-) I have 13 1/2. The half is a unicycle. Two track racing Cervelos, a T1 for sprint events and a T3 for pursuit, soon to be supplemented with a T4 . Two time trial bikes, the newer Cervelo P4 for racing and the older Litespeed Blade for training. A nu,mber of road and touring bikes, etc. etc. No fat tires though, so that may be the next addition. Would love to hear from anybody in the southwest US who rides and shares an appreciation for being nude outdoors. Have fun and keep the rubber side down!

RE: What do you ride?

Hi, I just joined the group, but to repond to your post, I have two bikes in current use, and an old one in store. One is a Cannondale 'Bad boy'(hybrid mountain/offfroad bike), which I have had for 7 years.I use it mainly at the moment to commute to work (approx. 7 miles, but I usually extend the ride home up to 15 - 20 miles), I try to commute by bike 2 or 3 times per week, although it dosent happen every week. I also have a road bike which I bought in Sept 2012. I inhereted some money, and put some more cash in to buy a decent road bike, which I plen to ride for many years. I tend to ride the road bike at weekends, and hopefully some evenings during the summer when work and study allows. My longest ride recently is 50 miles, which I expect to exceed in the near future. The plan is to take part in some sportives (which I guess will have to be clothed). I would like to cycle nude, and have on occasion when riding empty roads or trailslet things 'hang out' and get some fresh air. I haveoccasionally taken a break in a ride, when out in quiet country side, and stripped off for a bit, very pleasent.Maybe I should join in the WNBR.
