I agree wish I could find shorts like we wore in the 80's. Those were the days. :-)
In the 80's my shorts were cut off blue jeans that had gotten too worn out to wear to work any more. I turned them inside out, and cut them off just below the pockets. Usually just cut them off with my pocket knife, so I could cut through both legs at the same time to make sure they were even. I still wear cutoff shorts from time to time, but do have some of the store bought variety, too.
