Driving Naked

Where to undress and redress

Return to Discussions

For me, driving nude is the easy part. It's about where to undress and re-dress that causes me concern. When on the freeway (I-5 in Oregon), I have undressed while driving. I will admit it is very dangerous, as I have to momentarily unbuckle my seatbelt.

Undressing and dressing in a parking lot is much safer from a personal safety standpoint but more risky in terms of being caught. I recall once I parked in a large parking lot in Houston, TX, thinking that no one would see me getting dressed inside of the car. After getting my shorts back on, I noticed two young women in a car a distance from me checking me out. I saw one kind of point at me. It could easily have gone south with one of them reporting me to security/cops. I don't trust any textiles based on past outlandish over-reactions to my nudity.

One thing that I am really happy about is at my go-to clothing-optional beach/park here in Seattle is that nudity in the parking lot is now acceptable. On the very rare occasion, when I am able to find a parking spot at the park, it is fun to simply get out of my vehicle nude and walk to the lawn/grassy area completely nude. It is also fun to see other nude park goers walk to their vehicles nude to get something that they may have forgotten, etc. Lastly, it is a lot of fun to leave the beach nude and get in one's vehicle and drive nude. But then, I am faced with the dilemna of where I will dress before I get back to my place.

RE:Where to undress and redress

It depends where I am parked as when taking garden waste to the recycling place I have to put my shorts on off in the car as there isn't anywhere I can park to do it outside the car. Even then people are passing around the car so they might see me.Stop at an appropriate place a few blocks before you get to your destination to redress.

That will be less fun than doing it there in the car with people around.

I used to attend a meeting in another town about 25 miles away. I would drive back naked after undressing in the car. In summer I'd have the windows down for the night breeze, it was great. I got dressed again in my town, but I would stop to do so. I don't undress while driving anymore, it is too dangerous.

a masculine kilt helps avoid any threat of nanny law enforcement. frankly, since ONLY Your cock&balls & ringus need to be concealed by statute, even a t-shirt can do the trick if handled creatively. savvy Nudists manage the basics first & LIFE sans fear.

I have never dressed or undressed inside the car.I position the car suitably in the car park or lay by and do it beside the open door.I agree; I never attempt to dress or redress while moving, always outside the vehicle. I also drive bare-feet; it completes the feeling of nakedness.

I often drive barefoot and shirtless even if I am wearing shorts.

RE:Where to undress and redress

My ex-wife had "undressing and redressing" in the car down to a science.

She would just wear a sarong on the way to the resort. She would have it tied in a way that almost looked like she was wearing a dress. Once inside the car she could unwrap and open it, leaving the sides under her armpit so that she could pull it back over her breasts instantly, if needed. There was a long country road leading up to the resort, and her sarong would be tossed in the backseat the moment we entered the dirt road. By the time we reached the resort she'd already been naked; allowing her to just jump out of the car nude and just head out directly towards the main office. It was effortless. If we got home late enough, our street was poorly lit; allowing her to just jump out of the car nude and head straight through the door. So there were days where she was able to be nude more than I was throughout the weekend.

I've found it a lot more difficult to pull off. Going bottomless with my shorts off and one leg inside the shorts, for easy pull-up, has been the best I've been able to do inside the car. For men, I can't think of an male equivalent to a sarong. Maybe something can be designed to that effect.

Typically, for me, I undress before I get on the road for any distance. Just a couple weeks ago, I left our accommodations in Death Valley with a textile friend. He was in his car, I was in mine. I let him go first, the coast was clear and I stepped out of my car and stripped. Drove nude all the way to our 1/2 way point home. I slipped on the shorts in the car in the parking lot and threw on the flip flops I placed on the floor near my feet before we left the parking area in DV.

We had lunch and parted ways there. I let him go ahead and took my time finding a spot in the nearby parking lot of a baseball stadium and stripped off again and drove home for a couple more hours. We have an attached garage so I either pull right in or in this case, backed in. After I got out of the car, which was 2/3rds the way outside the garage, I began unloading.

From a club, resort or beach, we've either gotten in the car/motorhome and just drove out and home without getting dressed. My wife does, nowadays, wear one of my Hawaiian shirts unbuttoned. She can close it when the need arises. From the beach, we find a spot in the parking lot where we can clean up and then we just jump in the car and head for home. We got really good at angling the cars to give us a space to shower off, dry off and not be purposefully exposed to others.

We visited a resort up in Nor Cal and this couple was selling these cool short towels with Velcro strips that wrapped around you easily and are great to sit on and cover up quickly if the need arises. In over 45+ years of driving naked more frequently than you think, I've never had an issue, ever been stopped and never been reported. It's either luck or people just don't care. If they do and call the cops, the cops don't seem to care enough to find me! LOL

RE:Where to undress and redress

Too add to my post, since I can't go back and edit, I stopped getting naked in the car between each and every errand stop I ran. It was such a PITA to do that and never really thought about it until Nudony and I had a similar conversation and he questioned it. Made my life easier not doing that anymore.

The Indian lunghi is simply a piece of cloth about 6ft by 4 ft which acts as a kilt but is very quick to take off and almost as quick to put on (Video)..
It is worn by Indian road menders and is extremely robust when put on properly. There is a video here of me wearing it doing chores in the garden.
