In the Hindu temples it is represented as The Shiv Lingam . it is also often associated with the Yoni , the female organ to symbolise Procreation ! and worshipped by everyone !
One should learn to make friends with one 's own penis , be proud to show it fully erect to all and sundry , a preferable option than developing some kind of complex !
In the same vein , i tend to think those who do not masturbate , have necessarily something wrong with them !

I hope I may, at least in part, have provided the confidence for you to broach this contentious topic. I say contentious because the mearest hint of discussion about erections, not to mention the visual evidence seems enough to create apoplectic eruptions amomgst the puritanical sack-cloth and ashes brigade that lurks in the deeper introspective under-layer of organistions like TN.
On this group's pages I have discussed, and illustrated with various images, the physiology and physical appearence of female sexual tumescence in the hope that people can get to understand that women have equivalent responses to those of men, and also that they can get away with full-on displays of sexual arousal in a way men cannot.

Well said. Spent some time in Nepal last year and going back this year, lots of there paintings, statues and carvings have men and gods with an erect penis as do many of the beasts guarding the entry doors to temples. It's a little amazing first time you see these and you wonder why but I read about this somewhere it was to show the strength and virility of the male and the guard animals were as a deterrent.
You are also right in the penis projecting out from the body can't be hidden away from view when a man is naked. Women's breasts are out there but there genitals are tucked away discretely, the only indicator may be some pubic hair if she chooses to keep that. A guy, well its out on show, and while some clearly fluff before walking along the beach this is not all and I think well who cares, we are on a NUDE or CLOTHING OPTIONAL beach. Nudists go there for a reason, its legal to be nude there if we choose. Textiles if you don't want to see a penis don't go there.

We go to the south of Crete, but I can't remember the village. There is a town beach, mainly used by Brits, and a smaller beach further down the coast mainly used by Europeans. Although the town beach is relatively out of the way, any form of overt sexual state seems to be taboo; whereas the other beach is much less restricting.
By that I don't mean there's out and out sex, but the guys have erections freely and the women seem equally uninhibited. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and completely natural.
Historically there seem to have been waves of uninhibited behaviour followed by periods of puritanism. Perhaps we are on the cusp of that with the next generation, but personally I hope we can stay with natural openness for a good bit longer.
As to the penis; it's a beautiful thing, erect or otherwise; cut or uncut.
