Gunnison Beach Nudists

You must go to Gunnison Beach and now you must have a picture of you at Gunnison Beach posted in this group.

Hello all, looking for some guys to hangout with Friday or Saturday at beach. Anyone gonna be there?

RE:This weekend

I will not.
Since I retired, I only go on weekdays to avoid the crowd.

RE:This weekend

It seems sort of strange to want to avoid crowds when they are mostly naked bodies. I want more of them around me, not less. Maybe it's just me, but the more the merrier is my take on bare times.

The largest group of nudists I've ever had the pleasure of being in the company of was around 800 and it was on Gunnison Beach back in the 2008 era. It was simply wonderful to be with so many other similarly-minded people. Now then, that was a time when Gunnison was a shitload bigger than the way it was in 2022 when I went back, when the clothing optional portion of sand was tightened up to less than 100 yards long. So maybe if the park rangers leave the beach that small when there are hundreds of bodies and people are forced to be right up in everyone else's business, I suppose that would make me a little less enthusiastic about the closeness, not being able to get away from all the coconut oil and flying sand.

The signs that marked the end the nude area used the excuse of keeping the area blocked off for environmental reasons, which seems reasonable; even though it is a national park and we pay taxes to keep it healthy, the level of critters and foliage - to maintain the viability of the natural habitat - needs to be maintained. It is easy to see what can happen when the natural barriers and fauna are put aside for human needs or uncontrolled greed - lose the marshlands and grasses and soon you'll stand a good chance of losing the land to the next major weather event.

It's a combination of people being packed too close together and parking and traffic issues that keep me away from Gunnison on weekends.

Ah, seems an eternal problem. Since they're somewhat on the periphery of society, the clothing-optional areas are limited in size and limited in facilities despite being well-patronised on a consistent basis.

A pleasant weekday at Sunnyside finds the short narrow beach (only accessible by an uneven rocky approach) to be quite busy with sunbathers, swimmers and even a few boaties when the surrounding beaches only have a few people present. The carpark regularly overflows with cars also parked along the approach road where parking is permitted.

If nude bathing were permissable in other areas there would be less stress on this one little spot, especially since, in my area, there's about 80 km of beach on Port Phillip east of the mouth of the Yarra, yet only 580 metres of legal CO beach.

My view exactly, Steve. In the 80km including and north of Barcelona, a similar mix of urban, suburban and holiday areas, there are at least 13 legal nude beaches, including two or three in Barcelona itself, and many others as part of town beaches. Why oh why can't we anglosphere countries have the same attitude?
