Running Nudists

A group for those of us who think running is a nice way to exercise. Do not think there are so many of us who are able to run naked as the group is for both naked and clothed runners.

Shamrock 8K/Marathon/Half Marathon

Return to Discussions

This morning Ill be running the Shamrock 8K in Virginia Beach. I have run in this race numerous times over the years and always enjoy it. The route for the 8K takes you down Pacific Ave and Atlantic Ave, turn onto the boardwalk where you run back north, then out and around again to the finish line. After the run there is a party tent with free food, beer, and music right on the beach. Its always a fun time. The half marathon and marathon are tomorrow on different routes up and down the oceanfront area. I have not run those races yet.

Race done. It was such a beautiful day to run at the beach. The sky was clear and temps were cool for the 7:30am kickoff and they slowly warmed up during the race. The starting point is at 30th Street and Pacific Avenue and my goal was to run at least to the turn at 1st Street/Rudee Inlet. I made it that far and Baden to briskly walk for a few minutes when my friend, Gary, another nude buddy, caught up to me and encouraged me to keep running. He and I ran at a nice pace for the rest of the race as we came back north on the boardwalk to 28th Street, turned to Atlantic Avenue, ran to about 38th Street, looped back to the boardwalk again, and finally made it to the finish line at 31st Street. My time was 49 minutes which is better than Ive run this race in the past decade. There had to be 10,000 runners out there and everyone had a fantastic time. Like I said Im not do8 g the marathon or half marathon today but who knows maybe Ill get to that point eventually.

Great job!

It's always a fantastic weekend of running and the weather is always a toss up. Glad it wasn't a cold, wet, miserable mess like it has been in the past.

I need to start logging some miles before the 5K in June lol
