Tolerant Nudists

This group is for nudists who are tolerant of others who are not the same as them. For example there are some who have good reasons not to show a picture and others who want a quid-pro-quo picturewise. Some are outgoing whilst others are still finding their feet. Some are sticklers for the rules whilst others are only human. TN has lots of members and the richness is in the veriety

There is a thread in another group about driving naked. It includes some who say naked drivers will bring nudism into disrepute, being exhibitionist almost intent on getting caught. Maybe there are nudists who take unnecessary risks. Maybe they are exhibitionists. There are others who only get naked on their annual holiday. Which is the true nudist/ Well, both actually. Just as nudists come in all shapes, sizes and ages, they also come with all characters. Tolerance accepts that variation.

I often drive naked. It isn't to make an exhibition of myself, just something else I can do safely in the nude. Or so I thought! I mostly did it after dark of when it's warm enough for many men to drive topless. I thought nobody could see me below the waist. But I went on a coach holiday and realised that passengerscan seedown into the car with a good view of thighs and the lower torso. Lorry drivers will get the same view. I still drive naked but take precautions not to get caught. We can enjoy our nudity, and whatever level of daring we wish, without offending others.

RE: Driving naked

When I drive naked it is not to show myself to others but to enjoy the freedom of being nude. Except under very limited conditions, I am certain that I will not be seen by others. My lower body is not visible from the sides and is only visible from the front by someone up very high.

I don't know about others but it isn't about exhibitionism for me. On one occasion, I was returning from a presentation to a potential client in a major city and was stuck in rush hour traffic that was moving at a crawl. I had read somewhere that one of the benefits of being naked was the calming effect that can have when a person is feeling frustrated. I stripped off and drove the rest of the 4-hour trip home completely nude and it worked for me. No one even paid me any attention, to include several members of the Highway Patrol.

I admire nudists who have the courage to drive nude and enjoy it. If I did it I would be too tense to enjoy it.
In my opinion it's a form of nudism and not exhibitionism. In Germany it's not forbidden when you are in your car. When you leave the car you have to be clothed.

RE:Driving naked

I drive nude (and am nude in general) because I prefer not to wear clothing -- it has nothing to do with being seen. When I drive nude, I always have something right there in the passenger seat that I can quickly pull into my lap if I'm in a situation where someone might be able to see me nude.

For me, it's definitely about the experience. I tend only to do it when the weather makes it a delightful windows-down experience with the sensation of airflow. Usually heading to or from the beach. Perhaps just a little, it's also about clandestinely getting around naked in the midst of others, including multilane traffic, traffic lights and occasionally pedestrians. I will work to avoid being seen (as I usually try to do outside CO areas) by not staying alongside other vehicles as we are moving and judicious choice of spacing at traffic lights to minimise the chance another driver or passenger ends up directly in line with my window. Busses are the biggest concern due to multiple passengers getting a chance for a glimpse and possibly even responding in time for the other passengers to take an interest!

Since acquiring a convertible, I've only tried using it once, late at night, and found even streetlights and sporadic cars were enough to make me super nervous. A real fishbowl effect. By comparison, my sedan feels comfortable in moderate traffic in broad daylight when taking the precautions mentioned above. Few others even look, let alone get a meaningful opportunity to take in the sight.

I've always had clothing beside me and have yet to have a need to grab it. The closest I've come to needing to do so are random roadside blood-alcohol checks that happen in Australia where a carriageway is blocked and police funnel the traffic into one lane and check as many drivers as they can. I'm not sure if I could put something on before reaching an officer, or just lay something over my lap. Once I skipped the nude drive on account of seeing the operation being set up when passing the other way. I did indeed drive through it on my return, but was waved on, as they had enough cars to deal with at the moment.

Taking extra care with speed limits to reduce the risk of being pulled over is also a part of the vigilance. Not being a take-away aficionardo, I've never tried the drive-through and would by unlikely to do so, for the employees' sake.

That's why I don't drive nude. I drive a convertible and would rather have the top off and my shorts on in warm weather than the other way around. I would feel too exposed with both off.
We have a minivan with tinted windows which would be good for driving nude, but I rarely drive it unless my wife is with me. While she is fine with me being nude in the house and back yard unless we have company, and consents to me going to clothing optional beaches without her, she does not want me to drive nude.

RE:Driving naked

I done driving nude in now total 22 states (TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, AR, OK, CO, UH, ID, OR, WA, MT, WI, NM, AZ, NV, CA) and I do it for just been able to be nude. Most are for at least an hour and longest I would say be about 4 hours. I've lost count how many times I've done it coming home from nudist resort. I've also been a nude passenger in most of those states. Since our car has windows that are tinted slightly it is hard for someone in a truck or bus to see into the car. But I've also done it in rental cars. Am I worried that I will be stopped by police or state trooper or high patrol, not really as I don't go driving crazy or speeding. There is also no road blocks done by the police for drunk driving as in other countries. However, there was one time way out in the wilderness of WI got stopped by state trooper. I had gone thru a turn in the road faster than the posted speed limit and not realized the road speed had changed and there was a state trooper parked at the end of the turn in the road, which I didn't see either. Wife was with me and she didn't even see the speed change or state trooper. We continued down the highway and suddenly I realized there were lights behind. I pulled over, covered up with a towel. Turned out the state trooper had chased us some 3 miles before I pulled over. He was wondering why I wasn't stopping and was about to call for back up. We explained we were talking and had not notice the speed change and that he'd been behind us for that long. He didn't even mention anything about me been covered with a towel or shirtless, was professional and took my information, and gave me the ticket for speeding, 10 miles over the speed limit. To this day, that has been my only ticket I've ever gotten, nude or not. I've posted a pic for each state I've done it in, and even taking videos of driving nude crossing state borders.

I have been stopped while driving shirtless several times.
Never been an issue.
In fact, once it was one of the very rare occasions when I was talking on a hand held phone and I didn't see the lights on the police car so I didn't pull over until he turned on the siren.
He ignored the two serious offences and only gave me a ticket for being in the passing lane while not passing anyone.
