Married man with non-nudist wife
Return to DiscussionsI stopped by WTR yesterday on my way home from the beach. This was my first visit ever! I have been wanting to check it out for years. It's a great facility...beautiful grounds, great pool, lots of activities, and some really nice people! I thoroughly enjoyed my day!
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find that, because I'm married, I can't return unless accompanied by my wife...which, of course, will never happen. If nudity does not equal sex, this seems to be a bit of hypocrisy. I'm not there to pick up someone. I'm there for the opportunity to relax naked surrounded by likeminded people.
Time to step out of the dark ages.
When I was checking out after my first visit to WTR years ago, I was told the next time that I would need a note from my wife to visit again. However, the next time, I called and made my reservation with no questions being asked. I went several times after that. I always felt somewhat "left out" there since I was by myself. I feel much more accepted at Avalon in WV.
I understand the reasoning behind the next time you visit you need a note from your wife or partner. The resort or non-resort wants to makes there is no conflict with spouse. There are to many guys or so than females that go it alone and do not tell their wife they are going nude. When the wife does find out they are upset that you did not trust them to tell them. There are people that will be out right to tell the spouse do not do it. No one wants drama and not telling your spouse will cause drama. The resorts and non-resorts just want to make sure everyone is on the same page. Please do not get upset or offended when someone says you cannot come again unless your spouse if OK with you being there. There are so many married couples that only one person is a nudist and the other does not want any part of the nudism. I get it, I have a wife that wants no part. I am trying to join a non-resort group and last night one of the Committee members called me just to make sure my wife is OK with me being nude around others. She thought is was crazy but I explained to her the same way I am telling everyone here. No one wants Drama.

But, although I can get a note from my wife, 1) It's really not up to them to be in charge of my marital harmony, and 2) it's not like she would storm the gates, guns a-blarin'!
And if there are more male nudists....so what?
