• Best Nudist Park Around

  Love going there - I'm from Austin so grew up going there. Lake Travis is picturesque (ok on 40% water in it right now) . Lay out on the rocks with probably 2-300 nudists on weekends - all friendly and mostly all nude. Nobody messes with you and we all enjoy eachother even sometimes congregating to chat. People expect a guy to sometimes pop up a bit and not cause an issue. Always game to find others visiting or living in Austin to go with me. AustinJohn

  Pros: Great open Lake, friendly people, on $8 per person, nearby (for me), Austin TX only Nude park (and I think only official one in Texas), sit on the rocks and enjoy.

  Contras: Not a bunch of shade - and have to wear shoes since rough terrain and need towel to sit on for the rocks. When hot the white rocks make it real hot. On holidays due to being a small park if you don't go early you probably wont get in.

  I visited here during a spring break trip to Austin. It was very sparse during the day, which was great. I was able to find my own space to tan, read, and relax. I got to swim in the lake, which was great (cold but very clear). There is a "gay area" on the far end (just keep walking until the paved trail ends after several curves). Friendly folks, nothing sketchy. I loved it and plan to go back when I'm in the Austin area in the future.

  Pros: Beautiful lake, tons of personal space, swimming areas, public nudity

  Contras: None! It was great!

• Worth the long wait

  I have been wanting to visit Hippie Hollow since I embraced Nudism and became a Nudist around 1994. The distance, a 4 hour or so drive from my home in far North Fort Worth, Texas, is the main reason for me having not visited before now. Well, I finally decided to go. I had planned to go with a friend, but he had to cancel unexpectedly. I didn’t want to go by myself, but I went anyway. When I arrived, the lady at the gate gave me a real hard look, like I had done something wrong.   Pros: Being nekkid outdoors with like minded awesomely beautiful people. The scenery is spectacular.

  Contras: The terrain is very rocky which necessitates using shoes. I wore Crocs and would not recommend flip-flops. The entry into the swimming area is also heavily algae covered, slippery and the drop off into the lake is really drastic in places.

  I go to Hippie Hollow as often as I can and have been there about 12 times in the last five years. It was my first socially nude experience and I have enjoyed it every time I went there. I've learned to get there early on the weekends and stake my towel out down near Radio Rock (near 2nd Bathroom). This is where most couples hang out as well as the old-timers. People here always friendly and you never know who you'll meet/see. In my two cases it was my old 7th Grade English Teacher who I met on the trail.   Pros: - Low key. A nice place to lay out and get some sun, float, snorkel, or walk around nude. - Nice people. - Security. The place is patrolled by law enforcement (always females I've seen) who are ok/cool with the nudity as long as your not misbehaving.

  Contras: - Low water level at times - Perverts in the bushes and along the trail (sometimes). Report these creeps to the law enforcement! - Crowded on the weekends

  Price still $15 to get in for the day, no increase this year. Day wasn`t nice at all when arrived, cloudy light rain but there was a surprising number of peeps. Mixed couples were out numbered by single guys. Water was warm compared to the 75 air temp and found several swimming. By noon stopped raining and by mid afternoon partly cloudy and got a few hours of part sunshine. Still most of the day we saw no more than 10 people.   I went twice while in Austin. 3/27/12 and 3/29/12. Very few people, maybe 20 people. The first day there were a lot of guys lurking in the bushes and would follow you if you walked the path. I saw one couple in the late afternoon, two more couples came in the evening. The second day was better. Fewer lurkers, but also fewer people, maybe 15 total. There was only one couple and they invited me to sit and chat with them. They filled me in on the background of the place and were quite friendly. If I am in the area I may go back again, but it didn`t leave me overly impressed.

  The lake is 40 ft bellow proper level due to drought. The trails are very hard to walk on & if the water level goes up it will help. There were just a few people there & for the most part they were men who were looking for something that neither one of us would be interested in. The few who came close to us had erections.

  Pros: it was very cheap for folks 62 & over, just $2.00 per car

  Contras: Very handycap unfriendly ! The male`s who go there need to learn nudist manners.

  I have been here a number of times, but just brought some newbies to the park. I remember my first time here. It was the best place to get naked in public for my first time, so I brought some friends new to being naked in public. They never thought the place would be so nice an kept up. The paths were wide and well maintained. The bathrooms were `real` not outhouses. Even have sinks to wash up. We first we entered at the gate, paid for the carload. Cheap compared to other `nudist camps.` the parking lot was very close to the path and the path was easy walking and perfect for pulling our cooler…

  Pros: Easy access, cooler friendly, Shade trees, Rocks to sit/lay on, Nice people from all walks of life. Priced right. Safe for the single ladies (patrolled).

  Contras: no vending or food near by, Can be very hot, lots of water / sunscreen needed. Sometimes clothed lurks hang out.

  Wonderful first visit. As long as you don`t mind the gawkers on the boats or the creepy groups of guys that come in to look at the women. I was with hubby and we befriended a single lady because she was a little stressed by these guys. The park rangers were good about asking if anyone was bothering you though. Gorgeous weather and got a nice tan.
