Kings Beach Directions

DRIVING
From Central Byron drive along the Pacific Highway toward Ballina. Turn left at the Broken Head Caravan Park turnoff just past Suffolk Park. Before you enter the caravan park drive onto a dirt road leading into the Broken Head nature reserve. Follow the road until you reach a car park at the top of a hill. A walking track descends from the car park to Kings Beach.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Getting to Kings Beach via public transport is a little bit tricky but not impossible for those of you who aren't afraid to walk a little.

Basically, all you need to do is catch the 637 Suffolk Park bus from the bus stop opposite Woolworths in the centre of Byron Bay (Jonson St). The bus will take about 7-10 minutes to get Suffolk Park, and it goes through all the streets there. The stop you want to get off at is the one closest to the corner of Alcorn and Clifford St.

Here, at the end of Clifford St, you'll see a track to the beach. Walk along this then turn right when you get onto the beach. It's about a 20 minute walk towards Broken Head from here so make sure you have some water with you.

When you get close to heads you'll see a track that leads you directly into the Broken Head Holiday Park. Go down here (there is a toilet/change room on the right, and a clifftop walking track on the left, as well as a little information centre which sells drinks and a few snacks).

If you follow the very scenic clifftop walking track on Broken Head you'll get to Kings Beach in about 15 minutes. You'll have to navigate a few craggily rocks once you get to the beach, but it's well worth it.
