• My beach experience

  I visited this beach in September 2022. The beach is clean and comfortable. The beach had security, a volleyball court and lifeguards. Entrance with parking cost 20 dollars. At the exit from the beach there is a shower, toilet and a snack stand. There were a lot of people and that's good. Nice view of Manhattan from the beach!

  Vorteile: Lots of nudists

  Nachteile: Paid parking

  I lived in New Jersey for years and this is the only nude beach. Free parking except from Memorial day to Labor Day weekend.

  Vorteile: Beautiful women.

  Nachteile: The weather. It is only good to be out from May til September.

  Finally made it to Gunnison after covid - was very surprised to find that the clothing signs have been moved much closer together and the clothing optional section of beach is about three hundred metres. Although you could walk without clothing on the southern end of the beach, it was beyond signs and I worried about being arrested by a ranger, although I never saw a single one today. Why has the beach been shortened for areas available for optional clothing?

  The beach was very nice and the people there were amazing. I have never been to a clothing optional beach before or in a public place nude before. This was a great first experience and I will definitely return.

  Love Gunnison. Spent almost a whole summer there in my youth. Now, I'm finally finding time to get back there. Friendly people. Great, expansive beach. Last time I was there, dolphins came in so close to the shore that they chased the baitfish right up onto the beach. As an indication of how cool the people are, folks were running all over the place, picking up the fish and tossing them back into the water. I can't rank it highly enough. IF you want more details (or want to meet up), feel free to reach out to me directly.

  Vorteile: Friendly, uninhibited, clean, welcoming of all types Oh...and food trucks at the entrance!

  Nachteile: Long walk from parking to water, but it IS worth it!

  This was my first time going to a nude beach and I went by myself. It isn't to bad of hike in, I suggest you only pack in what you need and have a beach cart with appropriate wheels. Everyone I spoke with was friendly. This is a destination I will visit again, soon I hope.

  Had my first vist to this beach Thursday August 16. It was a beautiful sunny day. Plenty of room on the beach since it was a weekday. Water was good temperature. The waves were very calm. I was told much more than usual. Most people were nude. Several were friendly. Meet one guy and told him about Tn and he joined Tn later that day. I was also told by my friend who has been to Gunnison Beach many times that one needs to get to the parking lot by 10 am to get good parking spot. Was told the weekends are very busy during the summer months. Have a great nude time at Gunnison Beach. I sure did.

  Vorteile: Big beach area Low waves Most go nude on this clothing optional part of the beach.

  Nachteile: watch out for debris on the shore while you walk. I did find a fishing hook at the end of the beach.

  Nachteile: Trash. Seen one other older gentleman picking up trash. Even seen plastic covers off TAMPONS from possible cruise ship dumping waste at sea or the sewer system, etc...Nasty

  I love it,weather alone or with friends . Yesterday I was alone had a few beers and a smoke chatted with a few people. Felt the freedom that only comes with being naked in a judgement free outdoor setting.

  Its the place where I started 3 yrs back, thanks to my friend who took me there- people are very friendly and non judgmental ..love being there when the water is nice and the walk way is open...

  Vorteile: A nice ride by ferry from nyc, friendly non judgmental people, clean

  I used to attend high school there, from 1981 until I graduated in 1984. The High school is less than a 1/4 of a mile from Gunnison beach. Soooooo, being a Jersey native and Shore boy my entire life I always sported a full body tan and made a lot of good friends while I was at the beach.

  Vorteile: good location, great people, nice view of the water and the NYC skyline from the bayside.

  Nachteile: If the wind is off the land side, bring bug spray. The traffic getting there and getting out of there.

• First trip to a nude beach

  Made my first trip to a nude beach today and it was a success. I`m in good shape but the fear of walking around naked at a beach was nerve racking. Once there I was impressed, good crowd, friendly people. I felt relaxed, like being in a locker room at the gym (Expect for the woman of course). Really enjoyed the freedom

  Vorteile: Good crowd, friendly people, tents, wind screens, music and alcohol are allowed. Park rangers and Life guards are very close to the group.

  Nachteile: The fly`s (bring bug spray)

  For a Monday there was a good crowd. Sun was strong and water was actually comfortable. Met some great people and even Bob who claimed he was a force in getting the beach to be clothing optional… Would love to meet others from the area there!

  We visited the beach to try nudism for the first time in July. It was a great experience. Till now, we visited the beach thrice in the past 3 weekends and we loved it. Great place to go nude for the first time.

  We finally got over our fares of going to a nude beach. After making the trip North to the beach, we set up our location towards the back of the beach. After about half hour i removed my shorts and it felt amazing. my girlfriend took a little longer, but once she did she loved it. The next few times going we go to front of the beach and we feel very comfortable.

  Vorteile: People are very nice .

  Nachteile: Long walk after the blue mat and its tough when you have a few things to carry. Plus the people who sneaks pics.

  We never been to a nude beach or even ever been nude in public before. It was awesome we didn`t know if we were going to be able to bare all but really wanted to go and give it a try. The hike from the parking lot was hard. Wish they had the blue carpet trail to the beach a little bit longer. Walking without shoes hurt my feet due to all the broken shells but once you make the hike in it is great well worth it. I was only on the beach for maybe 10 minutes got our chairs set up and the coolers and was able to feel right at home and get the top off. After another 5 minutes I went for the bare it…

  Vorteile: No one seem to mind what shape or size you are.

  Nachteile: The long hike into the beach. They do have a walkway at the beginning and then a blue carpet but once you are off that it makes it harder to walk

  I went there more than twenty --maybe twenty-five--years ago. Just loved it. Excellent beach. Sand flies were a nuisance. Slept overnight on the beach and don`t you know an electrical storm creeped up at about 2 am. Fortunately, the men`s shower room was open for protection. And the next day, the weather was excellent. Great place. Great memory.

  Vorteile: Went by bus... how cool was that...

  Nachteile: sand flies... By 10 am they were gone...

  Yes I loved it when i went nude in gunnison, It is not too far away from where i live. We should have more and more nudits come too nj.. Great place too go nude. But I love it when it gets hott. at the beach. and the lifegards look.
