RE:Do you FLAG the fakes? The SPAM is out of control

Yes, avidly, every time I log on. Most pleasing today to see that those more than about 4 days old are already blocked. First time I have seen that occur. Finally the moderators must be paying attention.
I Flag and Block anyone with the following; extremely limited Profile, short membership from a few hours to a few weeks, a website mentioned in the first line of their profile usually alluding to pickup, sex or similar, no friends, no groups, no blogs (although once I struck a blog that just repeated the website URL), no locations, etc.
Occasionally I strike someone with a limited profile and no friends, but their profile and membership will say they are new, so as long as they are not advertising a website I give them the benefit of doubt and message them with a kindly message and a few hints on making the best of the site if they are truly nudists.
My friends are Certified unless I know them, have met them, they are friends of friends, etc.
This site would have massive potential if it was cleaned up. More TrueNudists would join and subscribe.

ridiculous, can we make an active list of flagged accounts to focus the effort? or is that breaking some kind of TN policy?i would just start making a list here of fake profile accounts and or the web link to said page??any thoughts, ideas or concerns...a list that could be added to by members for membersmy grammar errors included:)

This thread "flag a fake" is starting 51 pages.

What's with the "No friends" thing? My experience here is it is an annoying waste of time, maybe a couple chats and DONE. Why bother, OK maybe if it were someone local with a chance of meeting.

Yep, every time the indicators listed are present, I flag and block, still surprises me how many accept friend requests from the bot/spam accounts.

Does anyone have a link to the 'check picture for authenticity' page please?

Dont know about an actual check for authenticity link. But depending on device you are using a long click, or right click, on the photo will offer you and option to search for them image using Google. If it brings back multiple copies of the same image from many different places then it is likely fake.
Trying it with your profile picture came back with no other instances.

Thanks, i suppose if pics are 'stolen' could show multiple instances too, will give it a go with suspected fakes on here too.

RE:Do you FLAG the fakes? The SPAM is out of control

Do you guys think the owners of the site really cares about authenticity? I've stumbled across multiple fake accounts, fake profiles, the "let's chat on Google Hangouts" nonsense.... I flag and block them but never get feedback from Moderators. What are your thoughts?

They do care but there is only a couple of so of them and they are not full time on the site. They use your flagging feedback to draw their attention to problem profiles and posts and then delete them.
They also monitor ALL the pictures posted to groups and the forum but inevitably miss a few that should be removed and occasionally remove ones that are OK by mistake. If you want to get an idea of the hassle involved volunteer to help administer a popular nudist Flickr group.
Bearing in mind the amount of time and effort that takes you cannot expect them to also respond to flaggers with a message each time. If you want that level of service then you will need to either contribute enough money to employ an office full of staff or put up with pages and pages of advertising. In the latter case you will probably find that the only advertisers willing to pay are gambling firms, porn suppliers, etc.
I prefer to pay the existing fees for the current more limited service and subsidise the majority of free members.
