I was in a department store earlier today and I noticed a sign that said Mens Essentials on the wall over the area containing underwear and sleepwear.
I can't think of many things that I view as less essential than these.
Who would agree with me?

Mar 27, 2022Interesting, and I agree I'm old enough to remember having a single suit that didn't get cleaned much. Still have few and they don't get cleaned much as I only use for special occasions. Hadn't thought about the underwear connection though. I also remember a great uncle continued tow ear removable starch collars until he passed in the 60's

Most need to be dry cleaned. so they are not cleaned as often as clothing that can be washed.ReagierenAntworten - MIMitgliedMar 28, 2022
I don't own any underwear or socks and no longer own a suit.

What kinds of footwear do you wear without socks?ReagierenAntworten - MIMitgliedMar 31, 2022
I was in a department store earlier today and I noticed a sign that said Mens Essentials on the wall over the area containing underwear and sleepwear. I buy them as rarely as possible and look for bargains when I must buy some,ReagierenAntworten - OX
Aug 10, 2022I so agree, Underpants I rarely use and sleep wear I have not used since 11 years old. I do not think I could get to sleep if I did wear something now. Underpants I wear only when I will be out and about and want to avoid the little wet patch that can happen after taking a leak, no matter how you try, there is always that one last drop.

Now in my 70's there is frequently more than a few drops before I can get it out to go.ReagierenAntworten

Aug 10, 2022I had that problem shortly after some bladder surgery. I found that a soft "jock strap" was all I needed to control those errant drops, and it didn't feel as confining as briefs or boxers.

Rarely wore anything to bed anyway, but now when i have to dress going out i dont bother with the boxers. Next best thing to being nude in a loose pair of shorts
I am one who has discovered the joy of going commando, and don't even have any underwear. Have you gotten rid of yours?ReagierenAntworten - MI

I was 64 so you were certainly younger than me. I had to wear a suit most of the time at work, and I didn't think that the slacks would be comfortable without. If I had known how quickly I would stop wearing underwear after I retired, I would have counted my underwear and undershirts and starting that many days before retirement, disposed of them when I got home from work.ReagierenAntworten - MI
