I went by El Dorado yesterday. They now have a little monument for Bill Pennington outside the Desert Pete enclosure. I didn't realize he had passed away.
He could be irascible, but he was also totally dedicated to nudism. When I first brought one friend there, she told me she was reluctant to get undressed. When she saw Bill, working the welcome table naked, she decided that she'd be naked too. She ended up hooked on nudism.
He also once invited a group of us (we were strangers) use the Sunset tub since it was slow that afternoon. He really wanted folks to enjoy that place.
