Bare Necessities Big Nude Boat scheduled to sail again in Feb 2022

Nude cruises are set to make a comeback.

With the coronavirus pandemic still wreaking havoc across the globe, its unclear when cruises will be able to return to the open waters. One company, however, is betting that by 2022, not only will people be able to cruise again, they also wont need clothes to do so.

Bare Necessities, a company that offers nudist cruise events, has announced that it will once again be hosting its "Big Nude Boat" event in February of 2022, presumably in the hopes of allowing plenty of time for the ongoing pandemic to pass. The trip is booked on the Carnival Pride, and will last two weeks (which is apparently one week longer than previous nude cruises), according to the announcement.

The announcement also details that the Carnival Pride, one of Carnivals Spirit Class boats, has a dcor theme that includes classic nude statues and paintings. As Bare Necessities writes, "Well feel right at home."

In regard to the length of the cruise, the company writes, "Passengers have requested longer cruises and many have extended their vacation by taking an admittedly less fun textile cruise before or after our charter. European and Aussie travelers have said they want longer cruises to make flying across the pond or from down under truly worthwhile."

The trip, which will depart from Tampa, Fla., includes stops at ports in Panama, Colombia, Bonaire, Curacao and Puerto Rico. The Port of Tampa was apparently chosen as the point of departure due to its "easy access from nudist resorts in Florida." (As the website notes, "all passengers must be dressed any time the ship is in port or the Captain announces that clothing is required.")

The Big Nude Boat is scheduled to set sail Feb. 13, 2022.

When its safe to cruise, nudists reportedly wont be the only travelers returning to the seas.

Fox News previously reported that data collected by trade organization Cruise Lines International Association shows that a majority of "cruisers" are likely to go on a trip relatively soon. In fact, results show 73% of cruise enthusiasts surveyed would go on a cruise within a few years.

A majority of those respondents also said they would go on a cruise within one year.

These cruises are our favorites (we've done 6 of them) and will probably be what is needed to convince us to go on a cruise again.

We skipped booking for 2021 (which became this 2022 cruise) because it was too long. We were hoping they would alternate between the long and short cruises every other year and now we will have to wait until 2023 to find out. 10 nights was the longest we've done with them. Since we won't have a cruise at all this year, we may look for someone selling an inside cabin when we get closer to the date (all of the lower priced inside cabins were sold out before we even got on the 2020 cruise back in February).

I've been sick and disabled since 2017 from an excursion stop in the Dominican owned by a Cruise Line. My fault I new not to drink water or ice off the boat and I did get a Rum drink there. I spotted the open water well while having my drink and thought this is not good! Luann won't go again on a cruise I fear but then I'm smart enough to not say much about for now.
Positive side I survived thus far where numerous well televised American death's incidents did happen in that time. I would like to do another Nude Cruise without a doubt when I can eat regular food again.

We've only been to DR twice -- on the 2017 and 2018 nude cruises -- and I'm pretty sure we never left Amber Cove either time. The only sketchier place we've been to on a cruise was Haiti and that's the same island! Maybe Guadeloupe, too. Outside of cruise line controlled facilities (and there were none in Guadeloupe) our rule is bottled water or bottled beer/soda only on these islands. On the other hand, a shared cooler of rum punch on our booze bus bar tour of Curacao was fine! And we fully trust the Perch Bar at what's left of Club Orient for mixed drinks with ice.

It was an excursion through the jungle where you could zip-line over the ocean. Guadalupe sucked big time. There is something to say about staying on the boat and having it to yourself when most leave for excursions. I swear I saw some that never left the dining room the entire cruise.

Was that the excursion where the trucks bringing you over got stuck in the mud? We heard a lot of complaining about that excursion. We spent the day nude in the lazy river and at the bar in Amber Cove. There were a few who did the zipline over the lazy river nude, so you didnt even need to take that excursion!

Guadeloupe supposedly has a nice nude beach but it is in Grand-Terre and we visited Basse-Terre. We watched some kids snapping a bull whip at each other for fun across from the dock while the ship was waiting for a party that was late getting back. We later found out they were late because they were mugged in Pointe-a-Pitre. Thats why the next year they switched the Guadeloupe stop to Martinique.

Since you cant be nude in the dining room, on some BN cruises we never enter the dining room the entire cruise!

Are there dining options where you can be nude, other than room service?
I would think going to the buffet nude would present greater issues than eating in the dining room.

There are dining options where you can be nude. If I remember right, on Carnival Pride in 2017, the only dining that required clothing on the ship were the formal dining room, the steak house dining, and the sushi dining. I may be wrong on those, but that's all I remember. The other places you could be nude.

Never been on a nude cruise so I have never had the opportunity to dine nude on a ship.
Closest I have come was on the Norwegian Jewel that had a barbeque and limited buffet poolside and swim attire was permitted.
Since there were a lot of European and Latin Americans on that cruise, I was less conspicuous in my Speedo Solar than I would have been on a cruise with most passengers from the US.

The trucks were military 4x4 and one was a 6x6 that wasn't stuck but did brake down. Good thing the trucks were such as it was going through the jungle as such. One very long hard trip I would never sign up for again personally. It was an experience porting that looked liked a Florida Mall then cross through the gate to see poverty for the next few hours.

That boat needs rehabbed. The archaic interior and when we were there they comped us a little bit for the construction work and hammering that went on for two days where we could not stay in our cabin.
