would a nudist society lead to less socialization between genders?

It seems to me that this site is gender divided. On every other forum on the internet, there was much more communication between the members of different genders and in the non-nudist world, the two genders socialize as friends. Yet on this site i have noticed that while the members of my own gender (male) are welcoming me with open arms and are very cooperative with me becoming a nudist , the females on this site seem to be almost rude, i have even seen profiles where girls say "i do not talk to single guys". they ignore my messages and dont accept the friend requests (even though my messages are non-sexual , and many of these girls already show their full profile to those who arent on there friend list(so its not like im adding them to see more pics) ). some of the girls on this site wont even READ my messages. is nudism a life of avoiding contact with members of the opposite gender other than a spouse? does this mean that i need to get married before becoming a nudist (because if the nudist girls at a nudist camp are like the nudist girls here, they have already resolved not to even be friends with any males, so it would be impossible to find a soulmate while living a nudist lifestyle) .

RE: would a nudist society lead to less socialization between genders?

you speak truth...I have noticed very few women who want to chat or correspond on this site, and yes, there are a lot of women here who post that they dont want to chat with single guys, or even befriend them.
I also find the majority of people here are using the site as a sexual search site, particularly the homosexual folks.
Please, before anyone jumps onme for that remark, I have been propositioned SO many times by gay guys on this site....I guess I understand where some of the women feel pressed by requests from us guys.
Maybe there is just no way to get rid of the sexual side of nudity....and people are showing us that every day here.

No, it's just the internet. I've met some very friendly and nice women at nudist venues. I've also met nice ones here. There will always be snobs. Yes, the internet finds the freaks who don't mind trying to ruin it for the true nudists who are here to make friends, contacts and understanding. I get a lot of gay males asking for friendship and I've never met many gays at nudist clubs so it is a different dynamic and demographic. One must practise patience and vigilance.

Well

Michael: You have two types of ladies on here:
1. The type that wants sex.
2. The type that wants to be free.
Of those, you want to meet category 2. From category 2, there are two types of ladies:
A. Those that don't know how to handle men and so close themselves off with mean words that they don't necessarily mean.
B. Those that can put a man in his place.
I would think that you would want to speak with the ladies from the 2B class.

The reason some women don't want to talk to men here is not about nudism but is about the type of men that this site attracts, of which many confuse nudity with sex. this attitude has driven many women off the site, and made others guarded. In my limited experience with real life nudist venues, it is quite the opposite. Men and Women talk and interact freely and naturally.
As a man, I get a "freind" request at the most once a week. A woman I know gets about a dozen or so a day, with no message or any explanation, many whose profiles are deesigned to mainly exibit their genitals.
In response to the one who said some women here are looking for sex, I've yet to find one here like that who I believe is actually a woman. You will find those that claim to be are not certified, and are probably men who use pics appropirated from other websites to pose as sexy women.

Would a nudist society lead to less socialization between genders?

Re: The question above. First I would change the word to socializing. Sorry, it's the translator in me.

I assume you mean society in its largestsense, and that it would be a society of people from all walks of life who happen to spend most -- if not all -- of their time nude. Unless human nature changes radically, I doubt socializing between the sexes would go away. Unless, of course, it was also a very sexually segregated society with all marriages being arranged by the parents, and a strict division of labour. That may be nude, but it wouldn't be naturist/nudist. One of the tenets of naturism is interaction between all sorts of people of both sexes in a non-sexual and non-exploitative social environment. Whether that socialising leads to more later is up to the individuals involved.

Less socializing between the sexes? I doubt it. Even if all the men were gay and all the women were lesbians, there would still be interaction for all sorts of reasons, if only to get a haircut, a tooth filled, a car fixed, a marriage contract, an out-of-court settlement, a job interview, a degree in philosophy, etc.

I have no problem chatting with anybody as long as they are polite. I think the reason you are meeting such complications when it comes to chatting with women is because 1.) The site IS consisted of MOSTLY men. and 2.) more than half of those men just like to harass the very few ladies that are on here. And as such, we put up our guard, and stick to our own friendly little groups. :) No it would not be like this in real life beacause MOST people have a shred of common decency that they lose when they are hidden behind a monitor. This computer screen protects them from the slaps across the face they would otherwise recieve for some of their remarks. During my weekend at TLR I met lots of wonderful and nice men and also a few nice ladies.

Very well said, Neko. And welcome back!

I will talk with anyone. I don't care if they're male or female. I do expect the same courtesy I extend to others.

One issue is that you're interested in psychedelicdrugs per your profile.

Actually, I can think of one reason why there may be less socialising between men and women in a nudist society, although it will take some 125,000 years to get there:

According to a leading geneticist, the human "Y" chromosome lacks the ability to repair itself and is slowly degrading. This will lead to the extinction of men and the need to perfect parthenogenetic reproduction if the human species is to survive with women only.

It would solve the problem of too many men on this site not being respectful of women because there'd be no men left to show such disrespect!

Oddly, perhaps, *I* don't seem to have these problems or complaints that many men on here seem to have.
I find the real women mostly friendly, if guarded. Some, are quite capable and comfortable telling you exactly "what for" when needed.
Personally, I'm not a chatter, so you don't find me on chat, so perhaps that's different. I've heard both ways on the forum, depending on what day it is, the phase of the moon, etc.
There are some that are actual, real females, that HAVE pretty much closed the door on the majority of "single men" on this site, and understandably so, since too many of the "single men" are not men at all, but sexually frustrated little boys, regardless of their age. They do earn a bad rep for all of us, and the decent guys pay for it. Largely, as said above, it's a hazard of internet where no one really knows if you're actually a dog.
In the "real world" of the very few resorts and clubs I've been to, this is not at all the case. Nudists by and large are MUCH friendlier and more accepting than the textile world. Also understandably so, since in that venue we all are the minority with something in common.

RE: would a nudist society lead to less socialization between genders?

Sadly the nudist/naturist world have often branded 'single men' as undesirable and this has continued. I can understand how single women want to limit their chat, they must get a lot of attention from single men (OK many of us are just being sociable but they don't really know which is which)- any social site is by definition a potential dating site - women have traditionally felt more vulnerable than men when naked and have been oppressed by men for centuries. It will take a lot of time to get women to be equal with men in all walks of life but especially in the nude world. Having said that a lot of women feel empowered by nudity as they are truely equal but they have to experience it to really understand that empowerment. When I was in Germany at a spa there were single women who were happy to chat with me (well those who spoke English) and there is rarely a problem. It's all going to take time!!
