Has anyone done improvements to their backyard to make it more nudist friendly. Looking to plan some projects this summer to make it more friendly to enjoy daily outside nude without worry.

We always walk around naked in our garden. It's our private property, and as long as I'm not directly exposing myself sexually, no one can do anything about it.

Yes. Planted green giant arborvitae and also schip laurel. It created a green wall in a few short years. Also 6 fencing in a few spots.

Put a 6' stockade fence around the pool and deck.
I sun, swim and do pool maintenance most of the time.
Got rid of more than half of my swimwear..
Now have just 3 swimsuits, for travel or when we have company.

Hi Adam, I've put shrubs along one of the property lines and when it's fully leafed in it's very private. Also put up a 7 ft fence along the other property line. And then I've enclosed my deck with privacy screening (lattice). I can walk around my backyard now completely naked and even mow the grass that way sometimes. I am naked out there all summer long.

Yeah when we lived in downtown Phoenix. I had built a six foot fence for my freedom. But the neighbors built a second story to their house and I didnt care. Still stayed naked !

Since we moved to a small town. I have been working on making this a private space for being free. There was a block six foot fence already. But it has sections where its a little lower. But the patio that I built is almost nudist friendly. Just a few things to finish. But the neighbors just laughed after seeing us naked. Lol

Hey Adam - We have a 6' block wall between our homes and that offers a good bit of privacy, but we wanted to be able to be nude anywhere in our backyard but our neighbor has an elevated pool deck. So we added Ficus trees to both sides of our backyard and it offers 100% privacy. Hit them with miracle grow weekly for the 1st year and they are not over 12' tall and have grown together so we have the privacy we wanted. We can garden, play with the dogs, swim, bbq, hit the spa, lay out...you name it and all in the nude. Good luck!

I have a privacy fence around the entire backyard, it's very private except for the one side that is between my yard and the neighbors. There is a utility way between our yards ( about a 12 foot wide section owned by the city where they service internet, cable, etc). There used to be evergreen trees planted along there, 4 summers ago that city cut down the trees, so it really opened up the view into my back yard even though I have a 6 ft privacy fence, the neighbors could now see into my back patio if they were at the perfect angle. So I did some research on how to extend the height of a privacy fence.
Home Depot sells this piece that attaches to the top of each 4x4 post, so I purchased 12 of those, then I took 4x4 posts and cut them into 2 ft sections, I attached to the top of each fence post, then I cut my stringers and attached between each top post, then cut my cedar planks down to 2 1/2 ft and boom, it added an additional 2 1/2 feet to the height of the fence. It turned out better than I expected, I've planted honeysuckle along that side of the fence, makes for get views in the summer, watching the hummingbirds come and go. I've had it up for 4 years and no problems at all, even with the wicked winds we get here in Kansas. Problem solved, now my backyard is completely private again.

Ive planted pampas grass along the edge of my backyard that borders neighbors behind my house. Going to out in more this year. I am considering ways to increase the height of the blocked view along the fence as well. While this is not plantings Im considering purchasing some all weather curtains for the screened in porch so it can be used nude with no worries. It is a few feet off the ground and provides a perfect view for nosey people.

I have a place in Park Central Heights, in Phoenix. The city wouldn't let me extend the height of the
fence with cement block because it had to allow firemen to climb it easily. They did allow me to install upright wooden posts and fill the between spaces with fiberglass panels like used for sunporch roofs. worked out great. Nudist back yard and firemen access.

We planted out gaps on our fence lines years ago. I started and my late wife added more. She was not a nudist but was comfortable that I was. Her motivation may have been that before the planting, a woman walked past our back fence (an old farm fence, post & wire) to help our cat she thought was caught up or injured. She looked in and saw my wife & I, we were having a drink in the late afternoon sun, me naked, her in a bikini. The woman was embarrassed and thought we would think she was perving. My wife laughed and said no but we did do more plating and she was happy when more fences were built. I use my space daily in summer and think of that experience sometimes, a nice and fun memory.

We planted Lilipilli many years ago which has grown to provide a wonderful level of privacy above the fence line. I tend to the nushes almost every day, nude of course. I remove small ends of deadwood to help stimulate new growth and periodically use the hedgers and or trimmer to keep it all within a particular shape and size.I love the process and the privacy.

Interestingly though, the paling fence has progressively opened up and in recent tines has reduced some of the privacy.

The paling fence has opened up progressively? Are people using the timber or are they trying to see in? Do your neighbours know you're a nudist? I have one side fence which is a bit lower but have lots of plantings although there are a few gaps, so I'm discrete along that side but not too much, the neighbour is good and hardly ever in their yard. Have lots of other plants too that limits vision.

It's important as nudists to create this space & privacy, but maybe to explain why if asked or if someone wants to change those conditions. Having a private space, a private haven as such is important I think.

But when the fence went up 20years ago the gaps were small and tight. We have three neighbours. On one side she has seen me a few times and is still friendly but has never asked any questions. Behind us, he is a pervert and has tried to effectively look through the fence. Whilst he looks in at me I think he's hoping to glimpse the ladies of our home...but again says nothing and asks no questions. The other side cant see through to the pool area, but have seen me a handful of times over a long period. She made a single smartish comment once but said no more and is still friendly.

I had 4 ft oleanders planted 2 years ago. They survived but not grown. Very frustrating. I want to be able to use my yard nude and can't. Just the pool yard is private. There must be a way to stimulate faster growth.

It's odd because when we lived in Baton Rouge, we were in the middle of a HUGE subdivision, but there were no 2 story houses there, and we had lots of privacy fence and mature landscaping. My wife and I used to do 'naked coffee' out on the back patio any time that the weather cooperated. Nude grilling, she'd work on her plants, etc. topless... (The heat & humidity convinced her!)
The house that we're in now is WAY out in the country, but oddly the only house that can see into our back yard is a big 2-story up on the hill above us. It'd take decades for anything to grow high enough to screen our back yard. Fortunately though, the other 3 sides are pretty well hidden and we've been able to do a lot outdoors nude without the risk of anyone seeing us or complaining. Oh well!
The house behind us was recently sold to a couple in their early 40's, so no young children there, and we've chatted a bit but haven't broached the subject to see if they'd mind what we do in our back yard. We'll see!!!
