How big a detour will you take so you can skinnydip?

Return to Discussions

I have several spots where I skinnydip on my travels around the area where I live, but all of them require a little detour off my usual route from point A to point B. Most of my swims are after-work on weekdays, I rarely plan a whole day outing for nude recreation.

Tonight I went to a lovely spot on a huge lake (pic below) . Very hot day (90s F), the lake was perfect--calm, cool, refreshing. An idyll for sure. It's a five mile side trip from the highway to get there, 10 mile round trip. I spent about an hour in bliss.

Some of the spots I get to are 25 miles off my usual route. They are some of my favorite places on planet Earth.

I've been wondering, how far are others willing to travel to get to a place where you can enjoy nudity out in nature?

I go to Gunnison whenever I get a chance even though it is 1.5 times as far and the travel time is twice as much as the nearest textile beach.
Last summer, it was the only beach I visited.

I go to a spot on the river near home thats about 15 miles away. It's kinda deserted and a real slow spot, loke a pond.wife and I will go down there and walk 30 or so yards to the water naked and swim for quite awhile. one time we had swam across the river, naked and was just sunbathing on the sandy beach and a jeep drove up and a couple got out completely naked and went swimming, finally saw us and swam over and visited for quite awhile.

Sunnyside is about 24 km (15 miles) further away from my nearest beach, more than double the distance. Totally worth it.

In the 6 years since I posted this I have I only been to a clothing required beach in NJ twice, and both of them was because I was meeting my sister.

I moved to Vero Beach full time about a year ago. I hear the beaches here are very nice, but I would not know since I have never been to any of them since they are all textile. Instead, when I want a beach day, I drive 40 minutes to Blind Creek Beach in St. Lucie County where I can be nude. There has only been less than 5 times in the last 20 years that I swam at beach, lake, river or swimming hole wearing anything and then it was just a Swim brief

Around Edithvale at the end of Edithvale/Springvale Road, if one can find a parking spot in the local streets, Way too busy and open to shed the suit there for anyone less than a '10'!

As a trip detour I went about 30 miles from the I-5 in Bakersfield to Remington hot springs. Most of an hour each way plus the couple of hours stay. We'll worth the side trip. Did go day tripping to sf once. Baker Beach was close by so. I went.
My local beach is blacks in sd. About 30 minutes away.
