World Naked Gardening Day

Return to Discussions

Today is World Naked Gardening day and if you are like me most warm days this time of the year you can find me out in the garden naked. To make it special I try to encourage someone new to the lifestyle to join my wife and I. I've had limited success, but have had several join the ranks over the years. This year I've had two no's and one maybe. Regardless, it's supposed to be 70 degrees here and sunny which should be perfect to be outdoors.

RE:World Naked Gardening Day

Alas, my work schedule didn't afford much time in the garden yesterday - all I got done was filling the bird feeders for those hungry little critters then back to work in the naked office! But every day is naked gardening day here at our resort and it's a wonderful thing. To be a little too self-absorbed, and speaking of absorption, last night, we here in the Tidewater of Virginia ended the day with a deep, soaking rain, mother nature's salve when it's been so darned dry for the last few weeks. Weeding should be a lot easier now, thank you. Glad so many others of us enjoyed the chance to keep their clothes inside and let the Vitamin D reign!

Unfortunately, I was not able to garden yesterday during WNGD. I was too busy going to a music festival and then we had rain.

I had a good day on WNGD with about 12 other people working on a naturist farm/ranch. Good work and good people, and the weather cooperated, which is not always the case first Saturday of May in Colorado. The rest of the weekend soaking in the hot springs was a bit dicey--cool and windy. I still got in a couple of naked hikes.

I missed the day but Ive made up for it since with 2 fabulous days working in the garden, chipping wood, killing weeds, working in the greenhouse, planting cabbages, mowing the lawns.
