We are all Openly doing things that are illegal in certain situations(being nudists) so I kind of assumed and unspoken acceptance... I was wrong. I had someone on this website tell me they wouldn't friend me because I use drugs. Well, I know they were referring to cannabis, but it made me ask a few questions of my own.
Does this person use caffeine, nicotine, aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol? And if they don't I would really want to friend them so I can understand how to get through life without these things.
And the shame is, this person didn't take the time to realize, that I use cannabis instead of the half a dozen grade A narcotics that I was prescribed when I fell off of the roof and landed myself in a wheelchair.
If and that, when I find a better way, I will probably quit cannabis.
I'm truly interested in everyone's point of view on the subject.

Nov 5, 2018I dont see an issue with cannabis use in moderation. It is from the earth and I feel it has practical uses that some may resist because it is how they were raised. I dont fault them for their opinion because its theirs to have. If they dont want to be your friend because of that, well it likely wouldnt be a fruitful relationship. Sorry they rejected you. Its clearly their loss.

As a 'child' of the 70s when marijuana was very illegal and its use regularly prosecuted by the law; I view smoking marijuana as something you don't do. I had friends get 'toasted' to the extent that I think they're still out of it to this day. That being said...it is a drug and I believe it affects folks differently. I do believe its medical use needs much more exploration and research...and should be used to treat conditions such as yours. Just my two cents worth. John.

My wife nor I use. Years back we tried it. Neither of us found it to be our thing. But we have a few friends that do use and are welcome at our house. But like smoking please go outside. I will admit my wife and I have discussed the possibility of talking to a doctor regarding the health benefits for some of our medical problems.

Nov 5, 2018I dont think there is any real link between cannabis and nudism at all, I dont think of nudism as being illegal, but even if it were its not in the same category as drugs.
I would always take prescribed pain relief from a doctor over cannabis. Im not qualified to go against their decision.
It wouldnt stop me friending anyone, but harder drugs would. Ive always been brought up to know that drugs are bad, when you see the situation some people are in down to drugs I dont have a reason to take the risk.

renamed_usr_988585460Original PosterNov 5, 2018Problem with talking to doctors about cannabis is...they don't know anything.
As of now it is still left to the general public to figure out how to self medicate and self regulate the medicine. For me it changed my life I have things now that I could not on those other drugs. Never be afraid to ask questionsReactReply - RE
renamed_usr_988585460Original PosterNov 5, 2018I love how you said the word "think" when referring to nudism as being illegal or not. Because that is very much how I feel about cannabis. Which then links the two very closely in my perspective.

renamed_usr_988585460Original PosterNov 5, 2018I would like to start by saying I love this discussion.
The use of cannabis has been completely legalized in many states, and partially legalized in even more.
The reason behind cannabis being illegal is political. You can do your own research on that since you don't believe the work of anybody else.
Also there have been multiple unbias studies that prove cannabis and many of its components are actually good for the body. And have far fewer long-term side effects than opiates.I don't expect you to believe me. I am just hoping it will Stark you on your own research.
Just by the way you have phrase your arguments I believe you to be a very intelligent person.
If more people independently research the actual results one would get from cannabis.
That person could see the advantages over taking 6 or 7 prescribed pills. There is no question to that.ReactReply - JA
Nov 5, 2018Im definitely no expert in it at all, its just my opinion. I would never chose to use it for any purpose unless a qualified medical professional prescribed it. I just disagree with the point that cannabis use and nudism are linked at all.
Im interested in this point though - if more people independently research the actual results one would get from cannabis. That person could see the advantages over taking 6 or 7 prescribed pills. There is no question to that. -
Are you really suggesting that people try unproven drugs by themselves to see if the results are better than prescribed ones? Where do you draw the line, should people try other things too? If I got some heroin or crack should I try it out in place of legally prescribed drugs.
Whilst there may be some illegal drugs which may help with certain medical problems, the risks of things going wrong when self medicating are ludicrously high. Personally I wouldnt take the risk, I struggle to understand why others would.

Nov 5, 2018Cannabis has been legalized Nation wide in Canada as of Nov 17, 2018 , You can buy it from Government stores just like alcohol.

Nov 5, 2018In Colorado you can smoke pot legally just about any place you can be nude legally. Generally, out of sight of the public on private property. However, there is no connection between the two. No more so than alcohol and nudism. If anything I would like to believe that nudist respect their bodies a little more than the general population and do less of both.

Nov 5, 2018Not being a user or weed I as well don't condemn anyone. When I was younger my wife and myself would use it some and I always found it work add to the thrill of our sex encounter and add to the sensations. It as well would help help us try some things that we didn't think we would ever try. More experimental I guess. We were never nudist at this , however these day I'm extremely into nudism. But I wouldn't link these 2 items together in any way.

Nov 5, 2018Im definitely all about cannabis! Im also all about nudism and bromances and is gay. Sounding like a rebel right now. But what I am really trying to say here is, not all things that are illegal are bad for you. Laws and rules are only set because the person/people making them have a negative connotation about them. Some even fear them. But if you actually take the time to do your research on matters before deciding what is bad for you then you can be able to gain a degree of freedom and control over your own life.

Nov 5, 2018There is no connection between using cannabis and being a nudist. And in the UK being naked is not a crime, it's only a problem if you cause someone distress with being naked. I've walked naked and am able to cover up in under 10 seconds if needed, also I practice Tai chi naked in my garden as well as hang up the laundry, lie in the sun etc. As long as you are aware of the surroundings you are ok. Cannabis is unrelated to nudity.

renamed_usr_988585460Original PosterNov 6, 2018I guess if I am suggesting anything. It is to make your own decisions.
Before I switched to cannabis I personally researched options. Comparing things like cocaine and heroin to marijuana shows a bit of ignorance.
As far as drawing lines. I personally feel it's a matter of natural selection. If you want to self medicate using something that is highly volatile and can kill you that's your choice. If you want to use something that your body creates naturally and stimulates those receptors. That should be your choice.
If you want to blindly believe Western medicine is the best, that should be your choice.
Just like many of us feel about nudity, it should be your choice.ReactReply - ST
Nov 6, 2018The old saying, "It's only illegal if you get caught." comes to mind. My brother smokes, let's say, on a medicinal level. He used to ride his motorcycle from Michigan to Alaska each year to get fat pound of some of the best pot grown in the US. He knew all the ways around border patrols. That pound was his year's supply. He is smart, self-taught, and worked in a field where exacting measurements and tolerances were required.
My wife suffers from chronic pain. She would love to at least try CBD oil. She does not want to smoke it. But she has had others with her same inflictions say it is a miracle. Her doctors won't even look into asian medicine, much less medical mary-jane.
It is a wonder that it is so hard to legalize because pharmaceutical companies stand to lose their huge profits from drugs that, arguably, do not work or have worse side effects than if you didn't take them at all. Just my humble opinion.
On to the question. In the 60's and 70's one could correlate marijuana use with nudism thanks to the hippies/flower children. They were nature lovers. Nudists are nature lovers. Ergo the correlation, I believe. Either that or I am just high! :D
Regardless, everyone has their own opinion. The problem is, some seem to inject their beliefs on others even though the actions of those others have no effect on the opinionated one.
I go and hike nude in a large forest preserve. I hike back were very few go and I can easily see someone approaching from a safe distance. Am I hurting that person. No. But, if they were to find out that people freehike in the forest preserve, they will take offence even though they have not seen it themselves. Maybe I am going out on a tangent. Maybe not. Just my two centavos...

Nov 6, 2018The stereotype remains and you will have a uphill battle for a while. Cannibus is becoming more common place and legal in many areas. Here is Texas at Hippie Hollow I smell it sometimes (I don't personally use) but really not much. I don't personally care and would agree being a nudist as a sometimes also illegal activity kinda makes its use even. Let you know when I attend some nudist parties to see what really happens.

Mar 10, 2024An old but timely topic. We legalized weed this year and just waiting on the government to figure out how they're goin to get their slice. I'll be there right when it opens. I've talked to the kids and asked if they have old people dope like we had in the 70's listening to Dark side of the Moon. It has nothing to do with nudity but I imagine we'll combine the two somehow.
