Feb 9, 2020I just read through the comments on a topic titled "This Sites Culture."
Many commenters expressed negative feelings about people who posted naked body images with no faces. Others referred to people who post content they considered sexual as "bad."
Well, my feelings on this topic may offend some. But, oh well, here goes:
One of my issues with the nudist/naturist community is how much they seem to like to sex shame. Sex-shaming is, after all, just another form of body-shaming. Sure nudism isn't about sex. Nudity and sex are, however, linked in multiple ways. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with that. And, one thing is certain: if we accepted and embraced the notion that humans are sexual creatures then nude-shaming would be a thing of the past. Sex-shaming others actually perpetuates naked-shaming.
As to why some people chose to NOT post photos that include their faces here is a fact: Some people simply cannot risk doing that. I am one of those. In my day job, I am somewhat of a public figure and if my naked body with face was out on the Internet my career would be over. That is a sad statement about the culture we live in. But, it is a fact. And, IMO, y'all who are on the "others are not nudists the way *I* am a nudist so they are bad" bandwagon are living in a paradigm that is not really much different than the modern culture which says your nudism is bad. Shaming others for expressing their nakedness/sexuality differently than you do is no different than the people who would shame you for being a nudist. You can't have it both ways.
Live and let live. And, treat others as you would like to be treated. Then, the culture here will be just fine.

It's actually pretty simple with me. If you wouldn't say it clothed at a get together among friends, you shouldn't say it nude at a nudist venue.

Apr 14, 2020Too much info in ths thread; enough for a theatrical play or a not-so-short novel. There are so many different opinions, arguments and counter arguments that a newcomer cannot read from post #1 and make comments 70 posts later.
Sharing the platform is inevitable. In the same way we live in communities with neighbours that we cannot become friends with for a number of reasons. Everyone's looking for individuals or groups with common interests, with similar understanding of life.
Some of us are creepy, some of us are transparent, some of us are distant, some of us are extroverts. Unless the site decides to apply more strict rules (which would certainly shuffle their target audience a little bit) everyone should be welcome to express oneself or show off.

Once you start negatively labeling someone, the reader has a tendency to stop listening to your point or opinion. This is not the first, and most likely not the last, time that you have made your opinion Boisterously present on a topic.. and proceeded to call people names. If you want to make a point, than do just that.. make your point. Type it out, re read it, edit it without inflammatory language or hurtful statements, and modify as needed. Too many people these days feel as thought they can say, post, ...whatever they want without recourse .. and they are wrong. For every action you take, there is a reaction- good or bad. You cant change the definition of a word (naturism) into what you want.
Words have meaning, its how they work. If you want to call yourself a naturist act like one.

Some people decide to keep their private life private, but would also like to belong to a group of people that they share a common interest with. Shaming them because they have face-less photos doesn't belong here. Name calling doesn't belong here. We are a Community, trying to support a nudist society, which is still deemed by the non-nudist society as wrong and immoral. Try conversing with your fellow, face-less pic, nudist and get to know them. Understand why it is that they cannot be as open and free as you are. Maybe they are shy, maybe they do have a job where they could be fired if a full body picture was copied by someone and posted on a social media website. Ill begin again.
Our experience of naturism is this.
What happens at a naturist beach or resort is exactly the same as what happens on textile beaches and resorts. Morals, decency and all the social norms dont disappear along with your underpants.
Real world naturist (me included) are some of the nicest friendliest non-judgmental people you will ever meet.
This is how we should always promote naturism.
Put naturism on line and you end up with TN , it gets hijacked by people (men, usually over 50 either single or with a non naturist partner) who have no idea how to behave and I doubt any of them have ever experienced real world naturism.
Lee, Roc, you can argue for their right to call themselves naturists, but in the real world... nah, they aint, In anyones definition.

Apr 16, 2020... the owners have permitted it to become a soft-porn site that happens to have nudist/naturist members simply because there aren't many online options. I haven't been around much the last couple of years and this thread is pretty indicative of why not. I regularly visit naturist clubs, beaches and swims and have done so in three countries so far and my real-life experiences are all positive ones meeting interesting people and chatting about interesting things. This place can just get creepy with the focus on genitalia and sex. In the real world NO ONE will walk up to you and say "great tits" so why the hell do some consider it appropriate here? I am not ashamed of being a naturist but I removed the few fully nude photos I had because I was tired of deleting the sexual comments that were left.
Just be nice to people and behave exactly the same way you would if your mother was doing the introductions. Everyone knows I'm a naturist. It's not a dirty little secret and I welcome questions from friends and acquaintances. But do you know what? When they ask me where to get more information I have never, not once, directed anyone to this site. There is a reason AANR revoked True Nudists' membership.

Dont go back to your corner stay in the mix otherwise THEY win. I didnt even realize the site had AANR membership. Great info. You are correct about the real world vs online sites like this. It is the only place they can get away with that behavior.
