Nudism and dreams

I often get dreams on nudism. It's coming to me since my young days. And I still get. Often people say that they don't remember dreams, but I can vividly remember my dreams. What i found that such dreams of mine can be classified into 3 categories.
1. In the dream, I discover a space where nudity is allowed and I become very happy and am surprised to see that my people are there and they are open to nudism.
2. I suddenly discover that I am nude in a social space and everyone else is clothed, and I am embarassed.
3. Am nude and sexual.
What are the experiences of other members?

I too have vivid dreams which i can recall when I wake up. Most do not involve nudity but the ones that do I am never bothered by being nude
in the dream. No panic from realizing i am naked. On the other hand any dream that has me in a closed in space, especially my head, I wake up
with my heart racing and often take quite a bit of time to go back to sleep. As I age claustrophobia dreaming or awake is a serious issue I struggle with.

When I started living as a full time nudist, I used to have dreams about being in public and realizing I had forgotten to wear clothes. I wasn't concerned about being seen nude, just wondering where my clothes were since I was the only one naked. I was at a party, a restaurant or maybe hanging with friends. In reality, I have gotten so used to being nude, inside and out, when I do have an occasional surprise visitor who "catches" me, I often forget to even acknowledge to them that I'm a nudist.

I think a lot of people have a variation of dream #2. I had it as a kid, being dressed only in my despised blue Y-fronts near to the local church in daylight and not knowing which way to turn.

Rare that I recall any dreaming these days and if I do wake up in the middle of one it also quickly retreats into the forgettory.

Very interesting question. Thank you for asking it. I'm also in the second category. Perhaps, we all want to believe we are quite comfortable being nude in any situation, I believe many of us are on that journey to achieve complete comfort. I'm fine being nude with other nude people but if they are clothed, I become embarrassed. Our dreams bring out our fears.

RE:Nudism and dreams

Dreams are so personal and often misinterpreted. I am a firm believer in that no one can interpret your dreams effectively except you, since you are the only person who knows you very well. Dream analysis is a fascinating thing to delve into but I've never found a dream analysis book that was very helpful to me. For those who find dreams fading immediately upon awakening I would suggest keeping a pen and paper or some form of recording device (not your phone, please - that should be left in another room when you're attempting to get a good night's sleep) on your bedside table if you have a desire to remember and a better understanding of your dreams. It takes effort to make those written or oral notes but I think you will be surprised how helpful it can be to your waking life when you begin to see what your subconscious is leaking out in your dream state. I look at dreams as the clearinghouse of the psyche - things that a person doesn't deal with in their waking life can come out during REM sleep that can be quite informative, or at the very least, utterly entertaining!

I've had all three types of nude dreams mentioned. Having now lived nude full time for over a year, I find very few of my nude dreams heading toward the embarrassed or scared direction any more. Even now, I will sometimes feel that weird sense of doing something wrong when I walk out onto the deck in the morning to put up the flag without clothes on, before my muddy brain has gotten any caffeine in it. That early morning dreaminess can linger for a few minutes, just like a vivid dream can remain in the conscious brain for a few moments. As has been stated, the veil of forgetfulness about a dream will come over you soon if not immediately, so write it down as soon as you can if you want to get the benefits dreams can offer you with minimum effort.

My categories follow:
1. In the dream, I discover a space where nudity is allowed and I become very relieved to see that it's safe to be naked.
2. I suddenly discover that I am nude in a social space and everyone else is clothed, and I don't feel safe. I fear someone might be offended, call the police and suddenly I am hiring an expensive lawyer and waiting in cold court rooms for nothing.
3. Am having an erotic dream - why would I be anything but nude and sexual then?

Sometimes I have that dream. But I'm usually not surprised. It's just something that I encounter as a matter of course. Maybe it's because I've actually had the experience of being nude around nude people, and have seen how normal it can be.

2. I suddenly discover that I am nude in a social space and everyone else is clothed, and I am embarassed.

In that sort of dream, I'm not embarrassed, but I'm annoyed. My clothes are someplace where I'm not, and I have to go and retrieve them and put them on.

3. Am nude and sexual.

I have those, too. Oddly, I have more dreams of a sexual content where the woman is partially clothed than when she is totally naked. It proves to me that provocative clothing can be sexier than nudity.

I had a dream last night where I was with a lot of other people, and all of them were clothed except for one woman. I don't remember if I was nude or not. But it struck me that she would be naked and unashamed when everybody else had clothes on. I don't know where that dream would fit in your categories.

RE:Nudism and dreams

I would say about every second dream I have is in a clothing optional situation. It's just a reflection of my real life, where I am in such places at least once a week and most of my close socialising with friends is nude. Typically, the location in the dream would be a fictitious beach, creek, or large public pool. As in real life, sex might be part of it, or it might not. I always awaken from such dreams relaxed and positive - again a reflection of my real world nudist experience.
