Soldering copper pipe is equally hazardous. I tend to burn myself even when clothed. Haven't quite figured out how the pros can do it and wipe the joint before the solder cools too much. This is where three hands can really make a difference.Make the joint in the usual way using only a small amount of soldier (around 10mm for a 15mm fitting) Then use a small paint brush dipped in your chosen flux (LaCo works best) to clean around the joint, let the work cool down and wipe the joints down with a wet cloth.

Clean an oven with that toxic oven cleaner spray... hate that stuff!
